Hello everyone!

First time post on this side - very newly BFP!

Been away since my positive test last week, was a bit scared as it was a weak positive, the hospital said I had tested 3 days early so it seems a good sign.

Re-tested on Weds so feel much better with the second +ve :D :D

Lovely to see some of the familiar faces over here.

Looking forward to being helpful and supportive as on the general thread - but need a bit of experience first!!

See you all soon
Luv
Sharon

Thanks LittleP!

Had a little bit of a cry today, not entirely sure why, blaming it on the hormones.

But I am experiencing all sorts of tweaks and pulls in my tummy - not sure what's normal and what's not. Feeling a wierd mix of super-happy and extremely cautious about being so super-happy??!?

Need to wait for the scan (which is at about 7 weeks for me) amd keep a PMA for the best.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Luv
Sharon

Hi! I think that I have been a little shy about posting on the first trimester site because I sitll don't think this is real..... On thursday, my clinic said that my 48 hour HCG level was 754( first HCG level was 351-I think) I have lost weight because of all the trips to the bathroom... I even had one of my patients ask me how much weight I have lost on Thursday. Crazy.... I keep asking my husband.... Do you think I am still pregnant? Crazy....

I had an interesting experience 2 weeks before my FET I really haven't shared with my friends here..... Hope it will be ok to share with you.

We went camping with DH friends in Vermont- We did last year and it was fun. Anyway... a wife of a friend of his and I got to talking about different things. Everyone knew what we were doing( FET) She shared with me that she felt that she had the GIFT of PROPHACY.. Yep you read me right. I am a Christian- I believe in God whole heartily. I am not that knowledgeable in Scripture...

This gets really weird now... On the last day we were there, she pounds on our cabin door at 5:30 am.Says she needs to talk to me... We go down by the lake and she proceeds to tell me that she doesn't see a "Baby Light" around me as she does with all her other female friends...She goes on to tell me that my Grandmother Ruth(may she rest in peace) came through to her and asked her to ask me if I could love anything with imperfections. To try to "valadate" my grandmother's presence, she mentioned something about a dog named "Poochie woochi" No such dog existed in our family.. "Pookie" not Poochie.. Anyway.....That scared the shit outta me. The Tuesday (day after we found out) This girl calls me( never has before) and asks me how we were doing. I said that we were PREGNANT and she said........."FOR NOW" It is like she hopes it doesn't work out so that her "preminition' will be correct.

Sorry about the long post... DH was PISSED OFF. Since his good friend is married to her I asked him not to say anything. We also just received 2 emails from them saying that they are "Praying for us no matter what happens."

How in the HECK am I suppose to respond to this wack job? She has made me slightly paranoid. DH and I haven't responded to her email- we don't know how to since he is friends with the WJ(wack job's) DH.

Thanks for letting me vent...

Jodi,
Congratulations and Welcome to the 1st tri!
Its a wonderful feeling and a wonderful time!

What a scary experience! As in not the experience per se, but imagine that woman telling you things like 'for now' and getting down your morale?
Its horrid..Please don't believe her and continue your prayers..
I'm a Hindu (Yoga stems from Hinduism), and we believe in karma and destiny( it was meant/ordained to happen)and we do have people who also prophesise and only end up making hard-working people nervous and not believe in themselves..
You did right in ignoring that person and her family..

Wishing you the very best!
I hope you have a wonderful Pregnancy and a healthy baby at the end of the 9 months!
Hugs,
smita

Smita!!

Thanks for the encouraging words and bits of advice. It was/is a scarey thing. I could not sleep very well last night and wound up going to bed at 12:30am and getting up at 4:00am. Not good for me or little one. Thing about it is we HAVE TO RESPOND to her- during our vacation I took literally hundreds of photographs( I adore photography) of everyone water skiing , doing tricks, and other stuff. We PROMISED everyone a CD of the pictures(edited complete with music! :D ) I/we need to find a way of gently telling her to go fly a kite without damaging DH relationship with her husband. That is going to be tough. Maybe that is why I haven't made the picture CD yet.

Thanks again and How are YOU feeling? Have you had any scans are you going to find out the sex? :P

Have a good day!

Hi Jodi

You are having a really strange and not entirely enjoyable time since getting your BFP - it seems crazy that so many people around you want to bring you down - maybe not intentionally but by their ignorance and lack of thought.
If I were you I would e-mail that lady and say thanks for the e-mail and that you won't be responding to any negative thoughts from now on. In fact tell her that you can see a negative 'light' around her which means that you can no longer keep in touch. I know it's really hard to do but just try to ignore all these silly silly people & enjoy being pregnant. When is your first scan by the way? Vicky
