Michelle, I dont know if you will read this, I havent been on this tread at all but a month ago we corresponded as I am in the same position as you (30yrs old, male factor) so just looked up see how ou were going and saw you were near the end of the 2WW. I'm just starting my 2WW, is it okay to join this thread? I'm not doing IVF yet, just medication at the moment.
I normally go through this with my friend but she just found out she is pregnant so I kind of feel on my own this month.

down in the dumps

Post by round2 »

I didn't follow my own advise and i did another hpt this morning. it was negative. I have my blood test with the doctor on monday but thought i had waited long enough to get an accuate reading...i am 11 days post ET. i haven't had any signs of AF besides signs that could also be pregnancy signs. I don't get it. If I am not pregnant, wouldn't AF have come along by now?? I have no idea when my "normal" cycle would be b/c of the meds...i am not on a regular cycle at all at this point. any words from the wise women out there?? trying to keep a PMA.

Hi guys,

Round2 - stay positive - HPT could be wrong. From what I have read, you are betting waiting until your blood test as the result will be 100% accurate. Remember - you can get a false result on HPT. Try not to worry. Let me know how you get on.

i am just starting my 2nd week of waiting. My test is not until next friday. Like everyone else, I am so tempted to do a HPT but I am gonna try and hold out. I am tempted because i am at home for these 2 weeks and I am slowly getting really bored and thinking about it more.

Here is to positive results.

Hi, everyone :D I am having my ET tomorrow morning and will be joining you all here on the 2ww thread. I won't be around much this first week as DH and I are taking vaca and laying low. I may take my computer, but haven't decided. I will check in with you all when I get back if nothing else.

Good luck everyone!

Hi Round 2... HPT tests can definitely be misleading, blood tests are 100% accurate. I too have my blood test on Monday, lets hope for the best. I do have AF cramps, but have kept my fingers crossed. Did an HPT test earlier in the week, I didn't see a +ve line in the first 5 minutes (and usually the instructions say to read in 3 minutes); later after maybe 10 minutes I saw a faint line in the test window, but am pretty sure it could be the evaporation mark :(. Decided no more HPT, just wait for blood test.

As for the meds, if you are on progesterone, AF won't start (this is from my past experience). As soon as you stop progesterone, AF will take its normal course.

Hoping and praying for the best. Take Care.

I think I'm going to count my 2ww from today as I'm not sure when I ovulated! I'm just using the ovulation sticks at the moment and there has been 2 dark lines for over 2 days so I don't know! I think I felt ovulation pains yesterday though.
I hate this time, I find it so hard to be positive. While we are trying I feel positive and then it goes and I just think its not going to happen. I mean whats the chances of it happening to me straight after my friends got there.

Thanks for checking in on me Smita :) The transfer went really smoothly...quite the opposite of my experience last time. Two lovely embryos were implanted. Now comes the hard part...just waiting! I forgot how hard this is...

sad day

Post by round2 »

Well, today is my test day. I took a hpt last night and it was negative. This morning I am spotting and am very crampy. I went to the doc about an hour ago and took my "official" blood test. I will know if a couple of hours, but when I told them about the negative hpt and the spotting, I received a lot of "I'm sorry" sentiments from the medical staff.

I guess sometimes things just aren't meant to be. I have a beautiful 2 year old from my first round of IVF and I will just count my blessings with her. I do not think I will go thru this again. For one thing, we are out of insurance money, so we would have to pay out of pocket for any further treatment. It such an emotional and tough thing to go thru. I'm just not sure I can do it again.

Good luck to all of you out there. Keep your PMA going. God bless.
