4 days until blood test...

Post by jinny »

..and feeling really REALLY nervous!
I've terrible wind and no fingernails left. Thats just me - my wife has the same symptoms but sore boobs also!

Does anyone know if its a good idea to take a urine based pregnancy test before the blood test?

We've just come across this website and have smiled and almost wept at some of your posts. It's wonderful to read the posts of those of you who have and are going through the same thing as us.

Best of luck to you all!

good luck Jin and Bev. Sounds like a good sign that Bev has sore boobs!

Don't know about the testing but someone here will be able to answer that.

Welcome, Jin and Bev :) I am in my 2ww as well and am testing tomorrow...thank goodness. I can't take it anymore

I've always been told not to test before 14 days after transfer or you could get a false positive because there is not enought HCG in your blood stream yet. Also, if you had the HCG shot before retrieval, you can get a false positive on the urine tests if it is not out of your system yet. I hope that makes some sense. We just all try really hard not to...sometimes we give in

Good luck to you both!

New to all this

Post by Smithy »

Hi

I am on day 10 of my two week wait and was searching through the internet and found this site, have been reading all posts and it is so nice to read all the feelings i have inside do happen to other people.

I am taking 400mg of progesterone 2 x day it is really making me feel bloated, i have stomach cramps and back ache along with sore boobs. Today i have been particularly bad feeling sick and faint along with really really bloated stomach one of my worst days yet. Anyone have any amazing tips on how to reduce bloating?

I have been ttc for 4and a bit years, have had six months clomid and all usual tests. Unexplained infertility, i am 27.

All tips greatly appreciated (even at his late stage).

Smithy x

Took a urine test today (day 15)- couldnt wait for the blood test on Tuesday and it is positive!
Trying not to get too excited and will take another one tomorrow to make sure. I guess we'll really know after the trip to Manchester for what I hope will be good news!

Thanks for all the PMA - it looks as though it might have worked...

I'm new to this board. I have read, but first time to post. I'm in the 2ww for my 1st IVF treatment. My test is on Fri. and am scared and can't think of anything else. I was wondering if anyone has been positve with no implantation bleeding. I've had none and of course, grasping at any signs possible..

Me- 32, DH- 35 (male factor, endometriosis)

Hi Vicki

Welcome to the board, its a wonderful place.

I think from what someone said here last week, more people don't get implantation bleeding than do (if that makes sense). What I'm trying to say is I think that its probably a better sign that you haven't had it. However, theres plenty of people on here that had bleeding and then were pregnant. So either way, its not a clear sign.

I get spotting every month and it ALWAYS means AF is coming about 5 days later. My sister used to get the same and with her first child, she didnt' get it, with her second child she did get it.

I think nature is meant to confuse us.

I think you have every reason to remain positive and hope for that BFP. Good Luck.[/u]

Hi vicki11 - Welcome to the board, the girls here are lovely and very helpful. Although i am not quite on my 2ww (monday), i have read lots of posts and only a few have had the implantation bleeding. Many say that they have no symptoms at all, as many are similar to af coming on. So keep the PMA going you can do it. this month has been fab for positives :D . theres no reason why you wont be one of them.

Jinny - Looking good for you, keeping everything crossed. did you do another test today? Wishing you a :D

Smithy - take care, not long now, keep up the PMA

bloating

Post by paulag »

Smithy, I had terrible bloating for the first few days after EC, so much so that I could hardly move! I took a pro-biotic drink like Yakult or activa, and the next day it was hugely better. Its almost all gone now, and I'm on the same progesterone dose as you.
I also take some fresh ginger chopped into small pieces (about a spoonful) and swallow with water every morning - also works well.
Not long to go - we test on the same day, bring it on!

I'm sure you feel the same vicki11!

Thanks Paula, Terri, and Sue for your replies. :D That makes me feel better. I just read too much into things. Good luck to you all as well! These boards will make me feel better since I don't discuss this w/ many people, mostly family.

Smithy- I think I'm having the same reactions to what I believe are my progesterone injections, bloating and cramps, ever since my ER. It comes and goes.
