Angel, I am so sorry to read your post. How confusing for you. I will continue to keep my fingers crossed until Monday and really, really hope that the result is different....perhaps it is hereditory.

Right now I think it's almost time for me to throw in the towel. It's been almost a year with no luck in lowering my fsh. You can only go so long with constant disapointment. Month after month after month after month. Its like, maybe someone's trying to tell me something? Anyways, I think I need to start thinking realisticlly. Talked to DH tonight and had a bit of a cry then. I"m feeling ok again right now. Just kind of out there, if you know what I mean.

Heather, you know how I feel about those bloody hpt's..
Stay away from them..They are notoriously inaccurate, the most definitive method of testing is via blood test at your clinic, so until that result is in as far as I'm concerned you are still open to go either way..Here's hoping for a fabulously fat BFP!!!
Paula, sounds like you're going through some thinking and soulsearching at the moment, glad that dh sounds supportive. You have been through a heap, I can understand the feeling of wanting to just let it all go. Whichever way you go you'll know that you tried really hard. I was always scared most of having regret that we hadn't at least given it a good go. I had friends (the fertile variety of course) that said "just let nature take it's course", and my personal favourite "if it's meant to be it will be"..Well that was never good enough for me. I wanted to know that I had explored the possibility of attaining a pregnancy via whaever means. You've certainly done that, I'm only sorry it hasn't had the outcome you have wished for thus far.
MissMolly, you must be in the mid twenty weeks by now are you? how is it all going?
Boo and I are keeping well, we are in full steam ahead planning for the first birthday party of the century which will be held in two weeks time. I am still undecided about the whole cake thang..Apparently I am a huge failure to all motherhood if I don't make a cake from the Women's Weekly birthday cake book..has anyone seen these cakes..they are frightening!!..I don't even do packet mixes very well!!!!

Thanks ladies, still no AF but still don't feel anything. BT is not until Monday but as today is 14 days post transfer I would have thought it is not too early for a HPT so I am really not expecting anything different.

Paula, DHEA is a male hormone that has been shown to have some great benefits for the more mature ovary. Try this link for some info on a study that a US clinic is doing.

Unfortunately you cannot buy DHEA over the counter here but your GP may prescribe some for you if you can be really convincing. I think there is only one pharmacy in Sydney that can supply it also but if you need to know where, just let me know and I will track them down for you.

This is a link to compounding chemists in Australia...there are actually tonnes of them in Sydney.

The US clinic undertaking the study recommend 75mg daily taken as 50mg in AM and 25 mg in PM. They also suggest that DHEA peaks in its effects after at least 4 months so they recommend waiting 3-4 months before starting a cycle. Apparently the clinical trials have produced a lot of spontaneous pregnancies during this waiting period so they encourage tonnes of sex during this time. Following the DHEA women are placed on a microdose GnRH-agonist protocol, followed by stimulation with 600iu of gandotropins daily (split between split between FSH (450 IU) and hMG (150 IU). If patients are over 42, no pretreating with BCP if younger they do.
Are you seeing your gp or your fert doc? If seeing your fert doc, maybe he/she could contact the clinic doing the study for more info.

Sunday morning in Bris-Vegas, the sun is shining and the grass is green (sounds silly, but everything has been so brown lately and the recent rain has turned things around!). Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.
Tiger, thanks for your supportive somments re. the cake. I looked back through the cookbook again last night, I have decided on the "puff-puff dragon" cake. He is very cute, just one circular cake and two muffins for his eyes (I might even cheat and just cut and ice a pre-made cake). Looks like fun actually (you may have to remind me of this thought when I am in the thick of it and whinging about how hard the whole thing is!!). The birthday party is two weeks today, gosh I hope we have good weather for it!!..the good thing is though that it is a breakfast party so hopefully it will be well and truly over before the day starts getting too hot!

Puff Puff Dragon sounds a treat - and lots of fun too - good luck! or should I say it in Japanese - Ganbatte!! You know I love that ready made icing stuff you can get at the supermarkets - I always use them when I bake a cake - it's very good.
This morning I woke up at 7:30am and the first thing I said to myself was... - "You're late for work!!!" ; so I raced up to my parents bedroom and I told (yelled?) them they were running late too, and I was rushing around like a blue-bottomed fly until I heard my dad mumble - "it's Sunday" ..... I honestly thought that this was Monday morning ?. This is my typical symptom of missing my hubby too much and I'm in a count down, Time is simply moving too slowly and I am starting to suffer hullicinations - again!!! yes.. 
.. this is not the first time I have done this. Last time it happened, I cancelled out entire week (of course it never did disappear) in my head..... How bizzare our brains work - or is it only mine???

Bel, how exciting that you're planning Annie's first birthday party I'm sure you'll all have a ball.
Tiger I hope the days go by a bit quicker for you until you're with your hubby again. Sorry to hear your endo has been playing up. Have you ever had it surgically treated? I got an amazing amount of relief after my laparoscopy back in Jan 2004 - was completely pain free after it, and I'd had Stage IV endo. I know for other friends though surgery had limited success, so I guess it varies person to person. Hope your endo settles down soon though. It's such a bugger.
I'm doing well, nearly 23 weeks PG and getting bigger by the day I can now finally feel the baby moving around and it's wonderful. He definitely has more active periods of the day (I'm calling it 'he' cos I have a feeling it's a boy, though we don't know - DH reckons it's a girl!). Usually after I've eaten and early in the morning are when I'm aware of the movements most. On Friday night we went out to a really noisy restaurant and bub was jumping all over the place! So it's true what they say about bubs being able to hear and respond to noise by this stage - pretty amazing stuff.
Anyway, love and hugs to you all. And extra special hugs today for Heather and Angel - hope to hear your good news soon.
