Hi Ladies

Had a Nuchal fold scan yesterday because of my age and the fact its twins – everything is still progressing well and the twins have everything they should have in the right quantity. They were even able to confirm that each twin had 10 tiny fingers (I could only just about make out their hands!!) We actually heard the heartbeat yesterday for the first time!!

Brandy - I'm also a bit sad that my next scan is not for ages, 8 weeks time (26/12 is when I will be 20 weeks!!). Seems ages away!! I have enjoyed seeing their progress every couple of weeks.

Welcome Steph!
Good to see you here. Good luck with your scan on Monday.

Best wishes to everyone
Ange

We had another scan today and finally got to hear both heartbeats! The rates were normal and we got two great pictures. They were moving around like crazy which is reassuring.

I think my husband is FINALLY getting excited. He saw them moving, heard the heartbeats...I think he realizes now that we are really pregnant :)

Great news KC - it's always a wonderful reassurance to see the scans isn't it? Good luck with the next wait until 20 weeks - it feels like forever but it'll soon come around,

Great news - it's like a major hurdle reached and crossed.

Take care of yourself and see you in the Second Trimester thread when you're ready.

Big hugs

speaking of the second trimester...I keep reading different things. My doc counts the first trimester as weeks 1-12, some websites go to week 13 or 14. When is it okay to bounce over to the second trimester thread? Any thoughts? What do your doctors say about the trimesters?

Hi All

I think that I am ready to join you - still obviously very nervous - I will be 8 weeks tomorrow and I went the GP today and she is reffering me to the hospital so I will get an appointment for a scan anytime between 10 and 12 weeks - just have to wait for a letter ( still I am getting better at waiting :!: :!: ) Then I will see the midwife and be "normal" :!:

Still can NOT believe it is real

Love to all

hello wonderful mums2b!
sorry i havent posted here in ages, works been busy and we're in the process of building a house and everythings just gotten on top of me! i must say ive really missed reading everyones stories - i always get tears of joy, i love it!! we all have lil miracles yay!
had our 12 wk scan (nuchal) and my God what an unreal experience!!! our lil baby was moving heaps, had the hickups then it looked like it waved at us and then it started sucking its thumb while the other arm was stretched back with its head resting on it just like dh when he lies down (minus the thumb sucking lol)!! we could see it as clear as day!!! i loved the little jaw moving as it was sucking its thumb - unbelievable!!! we got it all on video and have already put some of our family and friends through watching it but they loved it!!
anyway, got the results yesterday and thankfully we're in the low risk group!
dh and myself r starting to enjoy it now, its beginning to feel more real! especially with this morning sickness that aint in the morning! seems its getting worse?! eek
luv 2 all,

Anyone having trouble sleeping?

Post by brs888 »

I am sure it sounds like I am having lots of problems, but really I am doing great. I guess I just like to find out if what I am experiencing is common and if any of you have tips.

My latest is not being able to sleep very well at night. It's crazy, because I will feel very tired, but have a very hard time getting comfortable. part of it is because I am having problems with my sciatic nerve and can't sleep on my right side, which is how I always sleep...either my stomach or right side. I broke down and bought "the pregnancy pillow" a couple of days ago. I hope this helps me get used to sleeping on my left side. Any thoughts?!

Hi everyone

Congratulations to the newbies! Hope to see this thread get busier soon. I found the first trimester thread especially supportive while waiting for scans. Very good for discussing worries and side effects and discovering most other people are going through the same, so its all normal!

Brandy - From very early on Ive found it difficult sleeping (And I normally sleep very well). Our bed is now full of pillows (Both normal and pregnancy ones!) Ive got one which fits your bump into when you lie on your side and a V-shaped one which you can mould around your head and back. I also have to have one between my knees as it makes it more comfortable to lie on my side. The main problem I have now is constantly getting up during the night to use the loo! Maybe our bodies are just preparing us for less sleep when our little ones arrive!

Theres a few of you coming up to 2nd trimester now. Hope you are enjoying your new bumps!

Take care everyone

Hello mini-bumps,

Is it OK if I join in?? I got my BFP on the 24thOct but did not want to post until I had a scan. Well I had my first scan yesterday and they found 2 heartbeats quite easily!! So now I thought I had better start realising that it is not a dream and I have twins now! :D :D

After having been so cautious about everything( I have m/c 4 times before this) I feel that I should relax a bit more and enjoy this. If anything happens, it happens why not enjoy the here and now instead of worrying!

So, I am pregnant with twins (sorry keep repeating as still in shock  ) and my next scan is at 9 weeks on the 1st of December.
As of the moment no major niggles to report but I am sure they will all click in soon.

Hope that everyone else is OK, not too sick,

Catch up soon,

Anna

Thanks, Kim for sharing your sleep woes...not that I want other people to be sleepless, but it makes me feel normal I guess and that I am not alone :) I tried the pregnancy pillow, which has two pillows (one for front and one for back) connected by velcro, for the first time last night and it definitely helped. I still just can't get used to sleeping on my left side. When are we supposed to stop lying on our backs...after the 1st trimester I heard?

Anna, congrats on the twins! :D :D Yes, try to enjoy this time...which is funny to hear me say, because I am almost to the second trimester and still worry :) My doctor basically said, "Welcome to motherhood." I thought it was kind of funny, but I am sure we will be worrying about these little guys for the rest of our lives!
