Hi everyone

Brandy and Danica - Lying on your back should be avoided as your bump gets bigger, because the pressure of your baby can press on large blood vessels which limit the blood supply to your heart and can cause fainting. (My midwife friend told me this). You should be ok at the moment while you have little bumps. Ive found it difficult to lie on my back for a while because I have had sacral (lower back) pain from early on. If I lie on my back I find its too painful to then move!! Also, lying on your left side is supposed to be better for you and baby. It apparently increases the blood supply. My little one seems to dislike this position though. Her feet tend to be always on my left side and I think its uncomfortable for her, she always kicks me quite hard when I do!!
Enjoy your pregnancies!
Love Kim

Kim, thanks again for the advice and experience :)

Danica, I spoke with my doctor about 3 weeks ago, when my sciatica was at it's worst, and he said that it is totally normal, and that women can experience this at any point throughout their pregnancy. Just like you, I thought that it would only get worse as I got bigger. He said it could get worse, or it could get better. It all depends on how your uterus shifts and grows and whether or not the uterus is putting pressure on the nerve. If it makes you feel any better, mine is actually better than it was 4 weeks ago :D

Hi Blake - congrats on your BFP. We told parents straight away but warned them not to get too excited until after the scans. We didn't tell anyone else until after the 8 week scan when we had seen a heart beat which apprently moves the odds to 95% suvival chance once you have seen the heartbeat. Good luck with it all and enjoy this delicious time!

I found out yesterday that we are pregnant! Some of you may remember me from late August when I had a negative with an egg donor. We decided to try one more time and keep a very low profile. No one knew what we were up to - superstition and all that jazz. I had an HCG of 53 and will go tomorrow (Wednesday) for my second blood to see if it's rising. Does anyone know if 53 is ok for a 12 day wait? I had three beautiful embryos transferred from a 21 year old donor.

I thought once I got that elusive BFP that my worries would be over. Now I have a whole new set of worries! Glad to have this thread to share our angst and happiness. It's a nice place t be!

Love to all you mother hens sitting on your eggs!

Wanda,
Congratulations!!
Blake,
Congratulations!

Wishing you both lots of luck with your scans.. Its as nerve-wracking as the 2ww!!

Wanda abt the HCG, those levels sound fine to me- they shd double everyday or so the doctors say..
I think Kim will be able to help you on that one..
But its lovely news anyway!
Blake,
Having been ttc for abt 6 years, I went overboard telling everyone!
Thankfully, its all worked out wonderfully for us..

Good Luck to all the first trimester moms!

hi wantarugrat

Congratulations! :D :D
My HCG level was 52 on day 13, which the nurse was concerned was slightly low. I remember her saying that they would have prefered that number on day 12, so you sound spot on!
Enjoy your pregnancy!

Blake - Congratulations to you as well! :D :D

Take care

Congrats, Wanda! That is fantastic news :) So happy for you and dh! Yes, I am just starting my second trimester today...and I am still worried about the little one. My doctor said it best when she said, "Welcome to motherhood and the worrying that goes along with it!"

Hi mini-bumps,

Congrats to blake and Wanda. I remember you Wanda from first time round so really pleased to see you back and BFP.

Only a quick message as I feel sick, sick, sick! :? :?

Am happy about it but really feeling bad. Am worried as was v. sick when pregnant with my ds until i was 20wks and that was a single pregnancy so am worried about how bad it could get with 2!!

Anyway, hope everyone else is having plenty of symptoms (but not these ones!!). Someone give me hope that they were sick at 7wks but it had gone by 8wks. That would make me feel better!

Got to go throw,

so bye,

Anna

Evening ladies.
Had blood test today, levels rising 'beautifully'. Got first scan on 29th Nov. Boobs starting to feel a bit 'odd'' but no pain or sickness. Got cold and sore throat tho, making me feel a bit off it, wish it would go, not moaning too much tho, feel like I have a lot to be thankful for at the moment :)
Hope you are all feeling ok.

Thank you ladies for all of the heartwarming congrats. Congrats to you too Blake!

Well my HCG was 90 today so it's staying the course. The nurse was very concerned when I called for the results as I'm dealing with two separate clinics... one in the US who handled the donor and one in Canada (where I live) where I get the ultrasounds, blood, meds etc. Anyhow, Canada didn't know US test at 12 days so when they saw my low number for day 14 (which they thought was day 16) they were asking lots of freaky questions like "any bleeding or cramping - yet" YET!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN YET"??? That"s when the "coin dropped" and I realized they were on the wrong date. Once I straightened things out they were so much more optimistic for me - whewf!!

Is all of this worrying Mother Nature's way of getting us used to having children? Well it's working!

I would love to hear stories from you who have made it past the second round of two week waits (bloods, scans etc) and what your HCG's were etc. I'm probably just over analyzing everything but we sure didn't get this far without a bit of that, now did we!

Hugs,
Wanda
