Thank you so much for the story Jag. I needed a a bit a woe is me. My husband jokes with me that if I would just do a little crack, smoke and drink heavily we would have a house full of children. Apparently alcohol was the golden ticket for your friend!! At work I see these kids of familys all the time. Just had a child at work last week whose mom has 7 kids and all of them are in foster care within a year of birth because she can't stay sober. And she's pregnant again. All kids by diffferent fathers of course!! ARGH!

Worst of all ffor me was my first day back to work after having my ruptured ectopic sick leave. On that day I found out about 2 new coworkers becoming pregnant and one of my best friend becoming pregnant after her 1st month of trying. I think I was numb for a week! Have finally recovered!

As you said are time will come. And a Christmas pregnancy will be a wonderful gift for us all. Do you know how soon they will test for pregnancy after transfer? (I tend to get excited very early about these things)

Sending strong follicle and embie thoughts to everyone.

Hi Daly

We are on the computer at the same time!
Bummer about your best friend.
14 days after ET seems to be test date, although I can't know for sure as I didn't get that far last time.

Are you around to go in the chatroom?

Jag, I just missed you. Had to step away from the computer to do some actual work :) I checked the chat room and it was empty. I'm on Pacific time zone so it's rare to catch someone on at the same time. Would have been great!

Your lists are wonderful. Haven't decided which I like more. Both have good points. Dates first help in keeping up w/ current activities that can sometimes be missed w/ names first. But, it seems names first is more common. I'll let the ladies w/ more message seniority weigh in on this one!

Jag, one last thing. Didn't mean to ignore your sad face. I can't imagine getting to ET to be told there are none. UGH - no face with adequate display of emotion for this. :( It is such an emotional roller coaster starting a new cycle after a failed prior cycle. For me even getting pregnant hasn't helped much. 4 miscarriages!! UGH!! But, everything I read says the only cure is trying again. We're young and each cycle is better than the last in that ourselves and our doctors know a little bit more and can hopefully use that to get better success. Your ICSI will work fabulously. How much more help can the darn sperm need? I might be ICSIing too.

Happy thoughts to everyone

Hi,
Angela here, do you mind if I join you for December buddies?

I'm provisionally scheduled to start day 21 drugs on 16 December - we just have a few dots and crossings to do in the paperwork - blood test results etc. Let me know if i should be posting in New Year list instead?

This is our first time, and we are obviously nervous. I'm really hoping it wont affect me too much as I have a little girl who will be three in early Jan, so I don't want to spoil her Christmas or Birthday....

I'm currently trying to find out about cheaper drugs (posted seperately) and whether to take asprin to improve chances.

Does anyone have any good techniques/advice to help stay calm and relaxed as I understand this helps too, and I'm a bit of a worrier by nature!

all for now,
Angela

Hi everyone
Molly - congrats on your perfect embies. Hope they're bedding in nicely and you managed to get some for the freezer
Jennie - good luck with the ET - not long now

I'm going a bit crazy. A week since my ET. Analysing EVERY TWINGE! I think it's worse because I was pregnant before (naturally, on honeymoon, ending in a miscarriage - a year later not pregnant again, discover male factor issues...) and therefore know what to expect. Going to the loo at work on a regular basis to squeeze my boobs to see if they're sore as they were last time! I'm going nuts!
I have a feeling it's not worked. Am getting myself stressed out worrying. This is not good. Any tips for coping??
Have booked in blood test on the morning of the test date. May arrange to leave work early and meet husband at the clinic to get the results. Though I'm going to do a HPT beforehand to prepare myself, so if it is negative, I should get some of my crying out of the way.

Yours a very crazy

Hi all

I have updated the list. I hope it is correct let me know if not!

Good luck Kagome with your follie scan today (I am ahead of you timewise as I'm in NZ!)- how are you feeling? Bloated?

Good luck Gail wow FET today - you must be nervous. Thinking of you heaps!

Welcome Angela - you are bound to be nervous. The only thing that calmed my nerves was being on this site - I think the more you are informed the better you are - so keep asking questions. I am not sure about the aspirin I was considering starting a thread on that myself. I thought it would have been a no go as it is a thinner. My acupuncturist said that we need to make the linings nice and thick so the embies have a cosy bed. I am sure your questions will be answered.

Jennie (71) - good on ya! Wow Thursday not long to go now! You keep resting!

Jen test date is getting closer!!!! eeek!!!! how exciting - how are your nails? Anything left? I think I will be like you and have to do an HPT and then have a clinic test - if all goes to plan I think I will testing around the New Years Day holiday!

To everyone else - how are things? Not long until Christmas!

DECEMBER BUDDIES

Post by Dizzie »

Hello ladies,

I have been posting and chatting on other threads, but looking at your list (very impressive and growing I know) I wondered if I too could perhaps join you. I say perhaps because I am due for a scan on Thursday morning to see if my follies (3 at 14mm and 2 at 8mm) are still growing and will be ready for EC on either Saturday 3rd December (my 35th birthday) or on Monday 5th. If all this goes to plan, although I must say it hasn't up till now, developed a cyst and then poor response to stimming, then I could be looking at ET next week and then the dreaded 2WW.

I would love to join you all and will pop in regularly for chats/updates and will be sending loads of love, support and babydust everyones way.

Take care. :)

Thanks for adding me to the list. I can't believe that I'm actually on a list. That's a fantastic feeling!!! I must say the list is mighty impressive and busy. Wow, we're all so busy, it's great. I'm sending out prayers and positive thoughts for everyone.

Take care and may we all hang on in there and keep smiling.

Hi everyone

Not sure if I am starting a new page so I have attached the updated list...

Sorry I haven't been here for a while but things have been really busy. I started my needles on Saturday. Was meant to start with 100 on Gonal F but the clinic gave me the wrong drugs!!! They were meant to give me puregon (spelling?) which actually has 100. So as the Gonal F has 75 and 150 so we started on 112.5 (mid way between on the dial). I am a bit nervous as I have OHSS twice now on 150. I guess it is only 12.5 over. It would have been better if they'd given me the right drugs though - it isn't like we need any additional stress. We just want it to work.

Today is only 5 days and I am already starting to feel bloated. In a weird way I am really glad as it means that it is working. I have my first BT and US on Mon 5th then Wed 7th prior to the EC on Fri 9th. Previously they have brought the EC forward by two days, so fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again. We don't want too many eggs, 12 or so would be good as previously we have had 21 etc. and they weren't the best quality. I seem to have implantation problems and they think it is the embryo quality. Having said that however, our clinic doesn't grade the embie's like other places do.

We are going to try for another blastocyst cycle if we get enough eggs. I think we have decided that if we get more than 8 eggs we'll give it a go.

Sorry I can't write to everyone individually but it has been really busy since I was last on! I am on baby asprin. I am not sure if it works but I bruise like there is no tomorrow. I decided to start taking as I had a positive ANA test (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis etc.) and asprin is meant to help achieve a BFP. We are willing to give anything a go.

Big hello to all the newbies :D I have only just joined the site as well and I think it is fantastic.

I am feeling really stressed at the moment. I just want it to work. This will be our 5th fully stim IVF cycle totaling 8 ET's after 6 cycles of clomid. I am starting to think that I must have done something really bad in a previous life. While my DH doesn't blame me and thinks this is a us problem, I can't help but feel guilty. I really hate my body sometimes. I just want to trade all the bad bits in.

We went to a wedding on the weekend and everyone was like "why don't you have kids, you've been married for ages" and "when are you guys going to START thinking about having a family". It really hurts. We just said it will happen when it happens and that we had two dogs. It is just feels really unfair sometimes. Sometimes we just feel like saying that we can't. I did tell a aunty and uncle and they proceded to tell us to go on a holiday. As if that will help. I have never ovulated naturally! :!:

Like others I have given up alcohol, coffee and most importantly CHOCOLATE! We even have stopped having sex between the ET and BT, which is a killer for me. The last time we had a BFN we ate a couple of blocks of chocolate and drank a couple of bottles of wine. We were really bad... I am back to being 'good' now and hope it all works.

Sorry - I have just had a major explosion. I just feel really low at the moment. I am usually strong, but the number of BFN are really starting to take its toll. We are not going to let infertility beat us. All we can do is keep trying. Not having kids is not an option for us.

Good luck to all of those having a EC next week and also to those who are in the 2ww at the moment. :) Hope you are all coping.
