Fantastic news Leigh and Anastacia - you're on the 1st tri homerun now that you've seen a heart beat and all looks well - soon be in 2nd tri relaxing a bit more.

Lucy - don't worry at all - I know exactly how you feel, you want more symptoms to prove that you are pregnant but on the other hand its fantastic to not feel ill. I used to worry that maybe my baby wasn't healthy cos of lack of symptoms (following a stupid comment in a book somewhere about morning sickness being a healthy sign) but that wasn't the case at all - my baby has been thriving. I think lack of symptoms is largely genetic - my mum had no symptoms whatsoever with me and I feel lucky now that I haven't suffered. Only two more sleeps now and you'll get the reassurance you want - don't worry if the doctor doesn't say much straight away - sometimes it takes them a few moments even minutes to be sure what they are looking at. It can feel like the longest time in the world but try and relax, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Much love and hugs,

Cherylxx

Hi

I went for my first scan today, I am 6wks. The doctor said it was very early and may not see much, she saw the yolk sac but wasn't sure on the heart beat, she said there was something there but she couldn't be sure if it was the heart beat or not.... but did reassure me that it was very early and usually don't see heart beat until wk 7 or 8, and becuase I had very low HCG levels to start maybe my little embie emplanted late (yes there was only deffinately one, I kind of felt sad for the other that didn't make it though)

So the doctor said its still early days but so far so good, I have to go back next week for another scan.

That all sounds fine Lucy - I didn't see heartbeat until 8 weeks - 6 week scan was just to see if there was a sac. Hope you feel reassured by your scan - sounds just like the rest of us. Docs are always cautious cos they don't want us doiing cartwheels and celebrating madly - it drove me mad people saying to me 'it's early days yet' - I wanted to shout it from the roof tops!! Don't worry - won't be long now and you can - only another 1/2 weeks and you should feel confident to tell who you want once you've seen that 8 week heartbeat.

Relax and enjoy your liittle bundle of love - talk to your tummy and don't feel sad for your other little one. They both brought you to this moment and although it is sad - your other embryo was part of and helped with the process that made your little one possible. Our little lost embies are like little angels watching over our miracles and they are part of the joy that's to come in 7 months (for you).

Love and hugs,

Cherylxx

worrying

Post by Anne19 »

Mil - I know exactly how you are feeling. I actually got very sick during my 5th week, so bad that I missed a lot of days of work and even had to visit the local ER and get an IV for dehydration.

I am at week 11 today and still a little sick, but not as bad. As for the worrying, I think it is just a first time mommy thing (at least I think) - Right now I am worried that my regular ob took me off of my progesterone suppositiories when my IVF dr told me to take them till week 12.

oops - and morning sickness

Post by Anne19 »

Please disregard previous post, I accidently replied to a very old post. Guess I am not feeling as well as I thought, my brain is a mush!

Anyone else out there get really bad morning sickness? I started around week 5 and had to miss so much work. I am now at week 11 and only feeling a little better.

Hi everyone - hope you are all feeling well. I'm new to this thread, got my positive this morning, after ICSI, so I'm only 4+3 at the moment. Feel very happy but can't go wild because my first pregnancy in Jan ended in m/c around week 8 and after I had seen the heartbeat. So I guess I'll just take it easy, put my feet up and chat to you guys from time to time. Am having quite bad headaches and constipation - presume that's normal. So far no other symptoms.

All the best,
Caroline

Hi Caroline

Congratulations on your BFP, I too don't really have any symptoms, but do suffer from the ones you have mentioned.

A lot of women on here don't suffer from any all way through, lets hope we're as lucky as them, in a way though you want those symptoms don't you..?

I also miscarried my last pregnancy in June 05, I am 6.5wks now and very nervous, I think its only natural, you get something you have longed for for so long only for it to be taken away again.

You take it easy and get plenty of rest, enjoy the next 8 months.

Hi
I've just come over from the 'other side'. I've just had it confirmed that the IVF worked and I AM pregnant, but only 'just' as my HCG levels are really low - only 32. I am soooo worried. I'm going back on Friday, 72 hours after the first blood test to see if my levels have risen. It is reassuring to hear that other have gone through similar things. However, I rather stupidly did another HPT and this one was negative, whereas I had a very very faint positive before. I think it's failing. I'm so gutted.
PMA required I think

Hi BEC

Sending you loads of PMA as requested..!

I have replied to you on the other side, but will here too, I won't go into detail as I have on your other thread, all I want to say is my HCG was very low, 19. Doctors didn't think it would last but so far so good, I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow.

I would also like to say that in my last pregnancy, I also had low HCG, only 7, it did double but sadly miscarried, well anyway I did 3 HPT all showed negative, but I was infact pregnant. HPT can be evil..

Good luck for Friday, I'm sure everything will be fine, stay positive.

Hi everyone

I went for my scan today, everything looked fine, I saw my babies heart beat, it was amazing. I did have 2 small areas of blood, they look like 2 little sacs, the doctor said it was just blood and nothing to worry about, that is probably the blood I am experiencing. This should dissapear, they want to re-scan me again in 2 weeks to see if the blood areas have gone or least got smaller.

They were happy with things today though, the baby was the right size and the heart beat looked strong, although the doctor didn't tell me the bpm.

I am still getting a bit of brownish spotting but putting it down to the blood areas they saw and I am trying to be very positive about it.

Thanks for all your support.

Fantastic news Lucy - that all sounds really positive. I wasn't told BPM at this stage either but was at 12 weeks - I think it's quite normal for them to just see tte heartbeat now and then be more interseted in measuring it later.

Congrats - you should relax a little now and try not to worry - your little one is thriving so just enjoy being pregnant,

Hi ladies. I think I am ready to join on this side now. I was a little hesitant, didn't want to jinx myself, so I waited a bit. I got a BFP on 11/25 and have had 2 scans so far. The 2nd was today and we saw a heartbeat!!!!! It was so exciting. I actually got choked up in the office. It's hard not to, knowing that this has been a difficult road and then all the hormones we are pumped with, how can we help it right.

So far my symptoms have not been that bad. A little nausea, bloating, but I think the worst is from the prometrium. Only a few more weeks to go and the meds will be no more.

Glad to see so many of you from the other side and hope the group keeps growing. Lucy we are just days apart. I am just now at 7 weeks.

Good luck to everyone!

Lots of love,
Stephanie
