Sally...oh Honey...i am so sad for you too ...
it's such a difficult time too with all Christmassy celebrations going on. You are allowed to feel angry, sad, hurt, envious and all other emotions. It is all part of the grief cycle. Allow your tears to come...we are here if you need or want to talk.

Maybe to raise the number of BFPs we need to use this site more as a research tool. I mean, if we picked out some of the main tips and said whether we'd followed them totally, mostly sometimes, never. Then all of us, whether BFP or BFN, gave these ratings to a number of the things they tell us we should do - then we might be able to work out which advice was worth following.

My concern is that it initially feeds into those feelings us BFNs get that we've done something wrong, but in the longer term, it might provide a way forward and really up our BFP rate.

EXAMPLE (Me)

Method - ICSI with assisted hatching.
Cutting out caffeine - mostly
Cutting out refined sugars - er - not really - I was very bad for chocolate!
Acupuncture - once when maturing eggs
Rest - Back at work 5 days after ET
Exercise - was running regularly before starting treatment but stopped aerobic exercise on Zita's recommendation. Didn't do any during. treatment.
Smoking - stopped nearly 18 months before treatment.
Alcohol - absolutely none.
2 litres water a day - was very good at this.
Diet - pretty good,
Supplements - vit e, vit c, cod liver oil, evening primrose, folic acid, selenium, zinc.
Also took aspirin for alot of the cycle.

Can't think of any other key factors at the moment. Is this a good idea or not?

Hi Amfy, good to exchange our ideas and things ladies did to get a BFP. I haven't anything to post as haven't got that far yet. (fingers crossed for this next cycle)
Sometimes BFP is the luck of the draw but it can't help to follow advise from experts like Zita and all the wise ladies on this site!

Am very impressed that you stayed away from the alcohol..wow. Have to admit I fail miserably on that one. My nurse said a glass of wine wouldn't hurt, have cut down.

I do worry about stopping excercising. I too stopped after reading Zita. I was a 3 or 4 times week in the gym gal before. I truly believe that the endorphines created by excercise help the 'feel good' factor in my life and have missed it dreadfully. Plus the fact that I feel sluggish and overweight now does nothing for my confidence. I am going to go back to some form of light excercise after xmas.

I agree with you about the water. This is needed by all of us, during tmt or not. A well known fact that the majority of us do not drink enough.

Why did you take aspirin? What does this do?

Know what you mean about chocolate! But have just about given it up and changed to fruit and nuts to nibble instead.

Jen, hope you are OK today.
Kat, loving hugs to you x

I think it's important for me to say mine was a BFN. I was just thinking it'd be good to try and see if theres a pattern to what advice we manage to follow, against whether BFNs or BFPs. Is some advice better/more important than other bits. If you took me as an example, you would have to say that giving up chocolate (& refined sugars) is really important as thats just about the only completely thing I failed to do right. However, there may be other BFNs who gave up chocolate, or BFPs who were worse than me. I guess I'm just wondering if theres more sense to it than we think. I mean - has anyone ever really statistically studied wome's preparation for this?

My clinic told me to take aspirin 75mg a day from the start of stimming. Something to do with blood flow I think.
