Hi everyone,

Have been away for a bit and just read up the last couple of pages, man, everyone is having a rough time being sick for one reaosn or another!?!? Hope you are all feeling better :) and if not...... keep listening to everyones comment about things settling down in the second trimester! its getting me through. I have been a bit ceedy for a couple of weeks but it seems to be settling down (or I am so pre-occupied with Xmas that I havent noticed as much!)

I have however had dreadful pain associated with my tummy basically NOT WORKING. I read a few of you have had the same trouble but I keep reading that constipation is normal from the muscles relaxing around the bowel to make way for a growing uterus and the increased hormone levels, it is so aweful though, constantly feeling like you are choker block with wind.....but there is nothing to come out, yuk - ko.

On another note, this might seem like a stupid question but as we all worry about miscariage in the first 12 weeks does anyone know if there are any other sysptoms other than severe pain and bleeding? I was worried that it might happen and I dont know about it but my friend said there is NO WAY I would not know. Sorry if I sound niave or paranoid. It is just I get strange feelings that because I have been too busy to think about being pregnant that my body might have forgotten what it was doing - WEIRD I know. Well I better submit this before it gets too long and I delete it cause it sounds dumb!!

Good luck to everyone....keep peddling til the 12week or so scan :)

hi carinaboo
dont know about the miscarriage thing i suspect as your friend says you would know........ ( people who havnt done IVF i dont think understand the doubts). i have started taken syrup of figs yesterday to try and help the constipation , which has been ridiculous , 3 days over christmas , didnt need anything else to eat as i was still full up! anyway it appears to have started working slowly , hopefully, and thats the idea , hopefully it will slow done and i wont get morning sickness instead!!!
hope you are feeling better and lets look forward to the first scans.

Hi girlies

surfaced and finally got a couple of minutes on the PC - the step kids and dh have been playing games all xmas and I,ve been trying to avoid food smells YUKK. Also windy and constipated and terrible pressure on bladder so geting up a lot to wee - what a lovely problem to have

well we had scan at 6 weeks (last week) and had a heart beat :D been checking beta Hcg weekly as a precaution - it was at 27,000 by last week no wonder I feel well ikky woozy  had another scan today, as I just couldn't stand the wait til Friday, and sweetie is fine and has grown to 0.75cm. I have just been paranoid the whole time about an ectopic as we had 4 put back, but she found the "failed" implantations today (tiny blood bubbles) and said they would just disappear over the next couple of weeks. Fibroid has grown, but she thinks it`ll be OK, too early to see exactly where the Placenta (called the Mutterkuchen ot mother cake in German  ) has fixed on. Have already had to up the dose of thyroid hormone, am now on double my non-pg dose. Let`s hope that and all the immune drugs will help this little sweetie stay where she is.

Big hugs to you denise, mandy, carinaboo, leigh, Lucy, and welcome Mandy....poor old you lot with infections, crossing fingers, so far so good.

Trying not to think about m/c is so hard, I was in tears waitzing for the scan this morning as we could hear the lady before us (who had a big bump) doing a doppler, and I was convinced the sac would be empty or something, but it was all OK in fact very good

Trying to send *ve vibes to sweetie so she knows how much she is wanted and loved. Hugs to all of you out there

Love bigJ 8) from snowy Germany (with crap films on the telly  )

Hi Mandy - yup, be careful because when that stuff decides to work, it keeps on going.

I've had upset tummy mostly in the am for the past while, and my bowel problems are in the other direction - I'd like them to slow down for awhile. Still 2 weeks or so away from scan day - so keeping everything crossed.

I've got a little pot belly poking out, probably thanks in part to the progesterone! I'll likely be showing before I'm ready to let the news out.

DH painted the nursery this week - he's definitely excited. He's picked out Winnie the Pooh border.

Hi guys, Just popped on to say have a wonderful New Year. Hope you all had a fantastic Christmas and that the symptoms are starting to lessen. I had constipation really bad - acupuncture helped in 1st tri and it diisappeared altogether in 2nd tri so it can pass even though you feel like its never gonna go!

Much love and hugs,

Cherylxxx

Well ladies - how is everyone surviving pregnancy?

I have to tell you, I always assumed that I'd be one of those pg ladies that never got m/s. Boy was I wrong. Hopefully this eases as I make my way to 2nd tri.

I've started drinking gatorade to try to replace some of the fluid my body is still losing at great rates.

Scan date is still 10 days away and causing considerable anxiety. I'd like to just put that safely behind me.

Hi ladies

feeling pukey sick too, but not actually been sick atall yet. Patrick Holford says zinc (ginger is good source) with vit C...

Dr has given me magnesium 300mg day to relieve womb twinges, it has helped, and that and a lot of fruit salad has moved the ocnstipation along  Had another scan Friday, 7 weeks 1 day, as my Dr is leaving and wanted to say goodbye, hb still there and sweetie now 1cm. Please God she'll still be fine next week when I meet new Dr. I am very lucky as in Germany they offer a check with scan each week in 1st trimester for over 40 / previous mc ie high risk pg's. I am told no more risk for the baby, and it`s keeping me sane specially as I am not allowed to work so too juch thinking time. Monday is a milestone as It's the time I lost my little sweetie last time. Praying hard.

Lucy - if you read this I am thinking of you as I sit on my time bomb just trying hard to believe. You are in my prayers sweetie.

Love and hugs to all of us brave hearts, I don't know how we all manage this.

{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} Denise, our sweeties are the same age :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D lets hop it's a sticky vintage . I am feeling guilty for resting so much, but to be honest I am soooo tired, I have no idea how I would go to work if I had to, I feel like sleeping all the time. We went to see Narnia yesterday and I had problems sitting in the cinema cos of oressure on my bladder, anyone else have this??? I also cried when Aslan dies ....and again when he came back to life  At home I lie on the sofa when watching telly as I have to take care of my back so I hadn't noticed this sitting rpoblem before...

My last pair of fat jeans are at their limit...I am just so scared to buy anything, weang joggers at home..

am I just paranoid???

Same here, I don't fit into hardly anything, but I'm scared to buy anything maternity yet.

BTW, I really enjoyed Narnia. The kid who played Edmund looks like pics of my DH as a child. lol

I've been having warm baths to relax - sucks not to have hot ones, but can't risk it.

I woke up this am not feeling nauseous and feeling a little like "is this bad that I don't feel as sick?"

Big J, you and I will likely be nuts until at least half way through the second tri. I'm envious that you've seen your little bean, I'm still waiting.
