In March I had a BFN and my body didn't react well during the 2ww; I had lots of cramping, overly extended belly, and the first menses was sooo utterly painful that I questioned this entire process. So, this time my RE wants to only retrieve the eggs and wait 2 months for the hormones to get out of my system...he says last time I was overstimulated w/ hormones which is what caused the big belly and bad menstral cycle. He's also going to change the protocol because I guess my body couldn't handle all those meds. Has anyone been successful separating the IVF process like this?...retrieving your eggs, then waiting to do the transfer?

I had my ER in March and froze them all for the exact same reason. My body did not react well to all the stims. I had 3 embies put back in May and I got my positive result this week! I go for my first ultrasound on Tuesday. I was a little nervous at first but all my research showed the FET success rate was just as effective if not more than a routine IVF cycle. The FET is less invasive and isnt as hard on your body to tolerate.

rikirees,
Congratulations!
Ok, now that news makes me feel better. I start the Lupron after my next period (around June 4th), then we'll go from there.
Just an FYI:
For my last cycle I only used Lupron instead of the HCG trigger. My Dr. said not to take Lupron as a downreg and that the HCG was what was causing the prob. Apparently HCG doesnt work well with PCOS patients.
