Quick background: Male Factor (low count, motility etc..) nothing believed to be on my side (we did have a baby naturally 4 years, we have a little boy)... I responded well (supposedly) to the Follistom (was only on 75ml 2x/day) Retrieved 17 eggs, 5 fertilized and only 2 made it. (From this, the Dr. believes that I may have an issue too....) Both that did make it were not the best grades at all, On day 3 transfer 1) 6 cell grade B (no fragments & should have been 8 cells by then) 2) 8 cell grade C moderate fragmentation. Embryologist did defragment, but he said it comes back.... RE said he wanted to be honest with me, and that we could really only hope the 6 cell would implant and continue to divide, but that my chances are fairly low....and really no chance with the C grade. (Assisted Hatching was also used)
I was devastated...I was CERTAIN CERTAIN CERTAIN neither would take....
Well I ended up getting OHSS moderatly around 6 days after transfer. I received my first HCG level of 56 - I was pregnant! This was 10dp3dt. Then 8 days later, my second HCG came back at 469..so I was still pregnant, and everything looked pretty good. Obviously, I knew only one had taken, as my levels indicated that of a singleton.
I went in for my first U/S at 6 weeks 5 days, and you could only imagine my SHOCK when there were two sacks, two yoks and yes...two heartbeats. Unfortunately, I do have a very small subchorionic hemorage, however the babies looked good. One measured right on at 6 weeks 5 days, the other was 6 weeks 2 days. We could not hear the heartbeats, which I was disappointed about...I suppose it is still a little early. Next week I go back for my 7 week U/S, and they do expect to hear both heartbeats......I am praying each & every day that nothing happens to either baby....
Dr. said I would be a good surrogate

I do have a couple of questions....
1) Is it a huge problem that one baby is a couple of days behind? I am thinking this is the baby that started out with 6 cells?
2) What can my low (low in comparison to twins) HCG be chalked up to?
3) Anyone familiar with a subchorionic hemorage...mine was about 7mm. Hoping it doesn't get any bigger..I have read, and as of right now, don't believe this will cause miscarriag at this point.....
4) Should I have been able to hear the heatbeats?
My recent numbers are: (at 6 weeks 5 days)
Estrogen - 4000 (they had me stop doing the patch since it was a little high)
Prog - 140
HCG 24,000
To the ladies that were in the Aug/Sept buddies, I have been keeping up with each of you, and glad to see everyone is doing well....
