bcp after D&C

Post by ydgg »

Has anyone gone on BCP after a miscarriage or D & C ? I'm planning on doing another cycle of injections in 2-3 months and wonder when a good time to go on BCP is?

It's been 2 weeks since the D & C.

Also, how soon after a loss have you ladies tried to concieve again?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Yvonne

I hope you are feeling OK and getting through your loss. It's terribly hard but it's something that you just have to cope with whether you want to or not - be strong.

I am not sure what BCP is so I can't answer your question on that but as far as the question of when to start another treatment is it is totally up to you really as long as your doctor thinks physically you have left enough time between for your body to repair it's self as well. I gave birth to my daughter who died at the end of February this year and I started my current treatment middle of June. I am on my 2ww and test on Sunday/Monday and I can honestly say it has been really, really hard. When I get my results I don't know how I will cope with a negative result but I coped with losing my baby and I am sure I will cope with anything else that is thrown at me. I do feel I am strong and have got through it this far but it's all down to time and healing.

We all deserve our dreams to come true Yvonne and sometimes I get really angry that some of us have to go through twice as much torture but there has to be a reason for it and hopefully one day it will all be OK :?

Take care and be good to yourself.

Love Dagny xkx

Yvonne

Sorry not sure what BCP is either (help Dagny don't know something!) but agree with Dagny - you must decide - physically it is around 3 months they say but mentally some take longer.
I gave birth to Oliver on September 10th 2003 and went on to have another tmt on my November AF and twins due any minute.

It is very difficult and as Dagny says the next tmt is so hard but I found it would have been harder waiting and watch time tick away.....

good luck

Hi there,

Sorry, I don't know what BCP is either, but in terms of when you try again - do it when you feel strong enough, but give your body time to readjust (as well as your mind). I know when I m/c and had to have the D & C as nothing was happening, I vowed that I would never put myself though that again. I did though although it took me from the November til June...

Good luck

BCP - Birth Control Pill, right?

A friend of mine who had several miscarriages was put on the pill for 3 months to stabalize her hormonal level.

Not sure how quickly after her miscarriage they tried that though.

I do know she got pregnant immediately after getting off, and is due in July.
IUI twins ~ July 2006
IUI singleton ~ due Jan 15 2009
