Re: New to forum Old to IVF

Hi all,
Tasiri - Im in Australia too and for over 40s our clinic will put 3 embryos back. They tell us it would be illegal to put back 4. I think if younger they cannot do more than 2 and 3 is allowed if they have medical reasons (i.e. age decreasing chances). Good luck with EPU. Perhaps you can ...

Re: 1st time IVF :) Question?

Hi Merimer,
Im not expert to give any medical advice and have few ideas on how to bump up the number of folicles. I have seen vitamin and steriod regiemes on some of the boards, also recommendations where some people swear by acupunture, yoga and other things like that. I havent tried any of those ...

Crossing fingers that levels normalise for you. I find the worst part of cycling is that there is so much that your body is doing that you really have nothing you can do to control it. Just a taste of what pregnancy is like.. hmm and bringing up a baby is a bit like that too.
I am not cycling at ...

Re: *NEW*advice or help or suggestions would be VERY appreciated

Hi again,
We have used the same protocal each time. Start on synarel on day 21 and then injecting Gonal-F at day 5. At day 11 (a week later) they scan to check folicle development (folicles around 15mm here) and decide on EC date. EC usually day 16 with a trigger injection 36 hours before. ET on day ...

Re: *NEW*advice or help or suggestions would be VERY appreciated

Don't go crazy. IVF can work like a charm. My first one was a breeze. I just followed directions mindlessly and ended up with a lovely baby daughter.

There seems to be quite a few different ivf regimes so I'm not sure how much useful information I could give about the process. The first time I was ...

Re: failed first attempt and sad

I found getting busy and moving on to the next attempt as quite a good distractor from the sadness and disappointment of the previous failure. But it only worked at that time. When the next attempt failed, I think I did fall heavier, so after a few goes was quite beside myself.
I expect if one of ...

Re: Ghost - 2 FET questions

The clinic I attend does not use abdominal ultrasound for transfers. They like you to empty your bladder before the procedure. In fact they don't seem to use any ultrasound at all. Just lie down, speculum, one catheter and good bye, good luck. They do suggest you sit and have a cup of tea before ...

Re: The Over 40 Crowd

Hi. I'm new and have posted on the newcomers thread, but also thought I'd jump in here for a bit of extra... attention. I guess I'm hoping someone will say that they understand and I'm not alone in my obsession.

I'm just 43 and my lovely DD has just turned 3. We had hoped (mostly me) we would be ...

Re: To Ghost and anyone who is willing to advise

My clinic uses supositiories for progesterone (I hadnt heard of injectables until I started looking on the boards) and they seem to work fine. The clinic boasts that they have good success rates.

There are different types (some need refrigeration) and can be a bit messy (it doesnt all stay in ...

Re: failed first attempt and sad

Hi,
Sorry to hear about the failed attempt. It is very sad. Most people here would have some idea of how it feels.

Where to from here? If you are able to afford it and up to it, then try the stored embryos. I think perhaps drs are different about how much of a break they like you to take, but if ...

Re: May cycle buddies :)

Hi. The brown / pink discharge may be spotting related to implantation. The embryo burrowing and getting itself nice and cozy for the 9 month journey. It is not uncommon. I had a slightly heavier version at about 7 weeks (usually it's a bit earlier) and took bed rest for a couple of days as ...

Re: Question about Loss-Miscarriage vs. IVF failures

I don't think that I think of the embryos that didn't implant as my children. I don't feel I lost all those babies. My goodness that would be overwhelmingly devestating. But I do feel really upset that the IVF failures have ended a dream. Obviously it was sad each time for the failure itself. Our ...

Done ivf X4 in Bris Aust

Hi,
Am joining to try to find a new direction (mental rather than medical) after last unsuccessful ivf cycle. Last one coupled with a badly timed and hideous cold was a psychological blow out. Still very sad and unfortuanately probably suffering permanant financial and relationship defeat on raising ...
