Help- Prenatal testing STRESS

Wonder how people are dealing with the huge number of tests, number, statistics, augh....

My NT u/s was fine, blood work ok with a very low-Papp-A but HCG fairly normal. It gave me a 1/8786 risk of DS and 1/317 of T18/T13. My last p. was terminated due to T18, which makes my number slightly higher ...

New study: Stress does not stop IVF success

I want to shout it from the mountaintops, to all of the acupuncturists, coworkers, friends, and everyone who has been blaming my stress on not conceiving, ha!

Ghost and all- opinion about betas

I am happy to announce my BFP after an FET of two blasts (day 5 and day 6). Thanks for all the great advice and hope.

Can I get your opinion on these betas:
18DPO: 1312
20 DPO: 2250

Symptoms I felt a few days ago (cramping, twinges nearly constantly for a couple days) have disappeared. I had hoped ...

Ghost- FET blast cell survival

Hi Ghost,

What is considered to be a good number for blastocyst cell survival for an FET (that would result in a BFP)?

Thanks.

Ghost and all- your FET opinions in 2011

Hi Ghost,
Me again here, gearing up for FET next week and looking for hope.
I have read your previous years' postings about FET, but wondered if your opinions have changed in light of new research now that it's 2011.
I have one Day 5 and one Day 6, both AAs (the best), vitrified, and plan to ...

Re: TERRIBLE MOOD AFTER EG RETRIEVAL

That sounds like a very good plan. For me, it was one five-day embryo. It didn't work that time, and I'm gearing up for an FET next week. I will always transfer two from now on.

Re: TERRIBLE MOOD AFTER EG RETRIEVAL

Absolutely. For me, it was the day after transfer (although I was not a happy camper after retrieval).
I realized that it's a HUGE transition between doctors and blood tests and shots every day to being left on your own for two weeks. Suddenly everything was behind me instead of in front of me, and ...

Ghost- lying flat immediately after transfer

My clinic's policy is to keep you lying down for only 5 minutes post-transfer. I know that CCRM, on the other hand, strictly has you down for a full hour, and other clinics somewhere in between.

Should I insist on lying down for a longer time? Is 5 minutes sufficient?

Also, I have a tilted uterus ...

Ghost: Immunology and NKCs

Dear Ghost,

How much validity is there in the NKC/immunology theories for failed IVF attempts? I have read about people who swear by this, and other things that say there is little evidence to support this. If you had a successful pregnancy as I did but am TTCing for over 2 years with one failed ...

Ghost: IM shot question

Dear Ghost,

I am self-injecting delestrogen and soon will start PIO before an FET for the first time. I have heard many experiences of IM as painful but I have absolutely NO PAIN at all (I do ice the injection spot before administering). I was given the shorter 1 inch, 22 gauge needle and am ...

To Ghost- FET number to transfer?

Dear Ghost,

After a first failed IVF eSET of a perfect 5-day blast, we are planning a January FET. We have one 5-day and one 6-day frozen with vitrification and a very high survival rate post-thaw. I am 29 and have unexplained IF-- all our tests have been totally normal.

We are trying to decide ...
