Hi

we have medical insurance (BUPA) but it doesn't cover ivf treatment. However, it does cover investigations such as hysteroscopy, laparoscopy and some blood tests. Everything else we paid for ourselves, mainly by borrowing money at 0% interest from my very kind father and by cutting back on ...

We're also coming back to it after a 2 year break!

After all those failed attempts, we totally lost faith in ivf and got a 2nd opinion for dh's situation. He had a vasectomy reversal but the count is very low so we're not going to get pg naturally.

We've now decided to have another ICSI attempt ...

Hi Kelly

congratulations to you! I have had 9 failed attempts and am awaiting a hysteroscopy to see if they can find anything wrong with me. I've had every other test going. the only reason we're doing ivf is because my husband had a vasectomy during his first marriage.

what did you do differently ...

Hi

We're at LWH. We've seen both Mr Kingsland and Mr Drakely. Mr Kingsland was mentioned in Harpers & Queen in their Best Doctors review recently.

We've had 5 attempts at LWH and prior to that we had 4 attempts on a transport scheme from Leighton in Crewe (Mr Armatage was the consultant) where we ...

Hi

my dh has had a vasectomy too. He had Surgical Sperm Retrieval (an op under general anasthetic) as it had been over 10 years since his vasectomy and a reversal would not have worked.

They retrieved lots of sperm through surgery and froze it. You then have to have ICSI, not IVF as the retrieved ...

thanks for your reply. I don't know what tests were done on my dh's sperm when they retrieved it in surgery but it's definitely worth looking into so many thanks for the suggestion. I'll contact the clinic and see what they've done in the past and what further tests they could do.

wishing you lots ...

9 failed attempts. Could a hysteroscopy help?

Hi

some of you on here will know i've had 9 attempts over the past few years down to male factor (vasectomy - he's had surgical sperm retrieval). I am 34 and they are yet to find anything wrong with me. I always get lots of eggs which fertilise well and so implantation is our problem. I've had a ...

Emma

I am hoping you can give me some inspiration. If i've calculated it correctly, this is your 10th attempt and i too, have had 9 goes, a similar mixture of fresh, frozen and abandoned attempts.

we are awaiting our follow up from our most recent -ive and are unsure if we can face another go. We ...

Did my test this morning (test day - I didn't test early) and it's a negative for me too.

Still getting the brown spotting (been 6 days of it now) and assuming that now I've stopped the meds, I'll get a proper period.

Not sure we can face a 10th attempt. We can't imagine it ever working and we've ...

Hi Emma

So sorry to hear you got a -ive but it's definitely worth testing again tomorrow.

I've had a few more pale brown spots and have started to feel really negative, I'm sure I'm going to come on any minute.

Hope you are coping ok, we are here if you need us.

Hi

I'm in Holmes Chapel, near Crewe.

I've always been really good and not tested til test day (next Weds for me). This 2 ww is the easiest ever for some reason and is going by quite quickly so I'm sure I can hang on til Wednesday!

Hi

this has put my mind at rest a bit too. I'm on my 9th attempt and have just found a pale beige spot in my knickers, about the size of a 5 pence piece. In all my failed attempts, i've never got my period until way after the test date so I'm hoping that this too is implantation bleeding and not ...

Hi

headaches are a really common side effect of taking progesterone. Lots of women on the mini pill (progesterone only) end up coming off it because of the headaches but they are on it for contraceptive reasons and have a choice! It's one of the many things we have to put up with.

But it will all ...
