Mil, in response to your question... Being in Greece is multi-faceted, but one of the main factors is cost. It was only $5000 including drugs and including the $50 is cost us every time we go to the doctor - for gasoline and tolls. So, compared to the states, it was totally worth it. But, at the ...

On a roller-coaster ride!

Well Ladies, this week has had so many highs and lows. Monday was EC day. All went well as far as that goes. But within an hour after I was in so much pain I could not walk. And normally I try not to cry, and just keep things to myself, but this was unbearable. Some of the worst pain I have ever ...

At 5'8 I weigh 225lbs and wear an american size 14W. My regular obgyn never had any issues with my weight, although he wanted me to lose some. My reporductive endocrynologist also wanted me to lose, but she did not want me to diet while preparing for IVF or going through IVF. She said I was fine and ...

The "you wouldn't understand, because you don't have kids" is one of the hardest comments. Especially since I was a nanny to the same 2 kids for 15 years. They are now 19 and 16. One in college and one begining her last year of high school. So I do know because I raised them as if they were my own ...

Because I had to travel from the States to Greece for a month, we had to tell everyone. I would have preferred to keep it to ourselves. I have heard all of it. DH smokes, that is not the problem, exercising, types of food, vitamins. If it were that easy, we would be popping vitamins, eating fruit ...

I know exactly how you feel. I am not under 30, but 32 is pretty close. And all of my friends said don't get tested, you don't need medical intervention, just take a vacation, etc...

I currently have 5 friends that are pregnant. 4 of the 5 are on the 2nd child. It is sooooo difficult to be around ...

Anyone around? ? about injections

Well, we got the news today to take our gonadatrophin(?) to release the eggs. Sorry, I'm not really up on my terms.
Anyway, we are not sure how to inject it, or exactly where. I was thinking like the top of my hip. My husband was thinking straight into my tush. Any help would be greatly appreciated ...

We tried Chlomid for 3 cycles about 6 months ago. It was not fun, and I never even ovulated on it! A total waste of side-effects and money! Then the doctor put my on bcp to regulate my cycle and get me on a calendar for IVF. The only other thing I have taken so far is the Gonal F for the past 4 days ...

Thanks for your responses ladies. I'm sure I will be IVF literate soon! We are in Nafpaktos Greece, 3 hours west of Athens on the Corinthian Channel. We drive to Athens though for all of our treatments, etc...

I will look for a May buddies group, and I will have DH read me the pamphlet for side ...

Feeling very uneducated

Well, I thought I had read up and had a lot of information. But you all are WAY BEYOND me! I live in the states but we are doing our IVF in Greece. DH is Greek and we have a house here. The cost is about 1/4 of what it would be in the states, but if you have to find a hotel, rental car, etc... I'm ...

Sandra, thanks for the response. I did buy a book called the couples guide to IVF. It was a big help, and of course the internet has been amazing. My RE in Michigan has an amazing woman that works for him and she gave me so much info. Its a bit difficult since I don't speak Greek very well, and my ...
