I'm sorry - I really meant that to sound hopeful - but I'm afraid it didn't come out that way.

When I had the first surgery - I was in the hospital with another woman who also had the same surgery. She had lost so many babies before they 1) figured out why and 2) how to help...I guess I ...

Hi Nicholas's Mom,

I was so glad to see that site; its nice to have a way to express our love for our babies!

I don't really remember feeling the stitches after the initial surgery; however, the removal of the stitches before the baby was due was pretty darn uncomfortable after being in there for ...

Hi Rach,

Okay - thought I was really confused...and wondering why they didn't test us after five days!!!

So sounds like your levels are good! You are in the middle of your two-week wait (ugh) but it'll be over pretty soon. Guess you'll probably have a good idea at about Christmas...couldn't ...

Beta Numbers

Hi Rach,

If you just had your transfer Saturday (like five days ago?) - I am surprised they are testing already. And...okay - I might be confused...so bear with me.

I thought the beta was testing for the hormone released when the embryo implanted into the uterus. It varies greatly - and ...

Its such a miracle that this procedure works like it does...and so sad that they can't diagnose this condition before premature labor starts. I had this procedure twice; I will say my cervix wasn't so thrilled about dialating the last labor! (That was a switch..my labors were way too easy ...

Heather & Jamato253,

I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers, Jamato on 1/6, and Heather on February 6th! Once you get through the first 12 weeks - and then the surgery, we'll all be celebrating! Where are you all located? I live in AZ...take care and keep in touch. :D

Embryo Donation

I am not certain where you are located...but there is a group called snowflakes embryo donation that I've heard about - and may use later. I think there are several groups out there...I am just starting to look and won't make any decisions until I am ready to donate; right now we are at week 12 of ...

Preparing to wean off the meds...

We are intended parents with a wonderful angel of a SM and a great Doctor. Next week we will reach our 12-week milestone - and with that - the doctor is preparing to wean our SM off her meds.

This is really a scary time for us - although I am certain that I am worrying unnecessarily. The baby is ...

jamato253,

Years ago I went through this heartbreak. I lost a little boy at 28 weeks - he lived for 2 1/2 days before he died. They diagnosed an incompetent cervix (I had M/C twice before *B* was born). When I got PG the next time - I was scheduled for surgery - but went into labor before surgery ...
