I went in to see my RE again and he insisted that we don't do a SCSA test because the information will be worthless. I don't think so and to rule out the sperm being a factor is important to me.

I feel that my RE is not supportive of my option to try IUI and donor sperm so I am attempting ...

At our clinic CCRM, it's really between 25 and 35K. It's so expensive that it won't even be an option for us, unless we go elsewhere. Thanks for the info though.

I just wonder though, if the sperm quality isn't good from the beginning, will choosing the best one out of the bunch really change ...

Hi Kellym,

I highly doubt it's your eggs. I am sure the sperm has a lot to do with it as well. You can get pregnant with poor eggs too (otherwise most people won't be able to have kids).

My plan so far is to use DH sperm so that we give him a chance. I still have to decide when to start donor ...

Kellym

I was wondering if you would consider donor sperm. I know it's a tough decision to make but from what I gathered from your situation it may be a good solution to try out.

Are you guys going to try the egg donor as well? If we go that route, it will be nice to be able to make that decision ...

Hi ladies,

I do believe that embryo quality is effected by the egg and the sperm. I just can't say that day 3 is the magic number for all. I just wish that my RE would give us another chance.

Donor sperm just seems like our first option since I don't think we can come up with another 35k for ...

I forgot to mention that I read on the internet that the paternal DNA could kick in on day 2 as well. So just because you do a day 3 transfer doesn't mean that it's the eggs. It could be the sperm as well.

REs tend to think that the sperm if fine because they are doing ICSI selecting for the best ...

Kellym,

I totally understand what you are going through. From what you are telling me it could be the sperm or the egg. But unless you have had tests tell you that you may have poor egg quality such as CCT or high FSH levels, I would suspect the sperm. However, the only way to figure out if it's ...

I totally understand. I am so sorry for all that you are going through too. All the best to you and your husband.
I just don't understand how one doctor says it's the eggs bc the embryos were so fragmented by day 3 and the other doctor saying that it could be the sperm quality too.
I just can't go ...

Poor embryo quality due to eggs?

I just spoke with my RE this morning about my poor egg quality.
Turns out that he said that my egg quality was poor because all the embryos were of low quality after fertilization. I had to do a transfer at day 3. My husband has a low sperm count, morphology, motility and antisperm antibodies. But ...

Actually my husband has antisperm antibodies and low sperm count so we went straight for IVF with ICSI to try to have our children. But since IVF was hard and I miscarried, I wanted to try another option before moving on to donor eggs. So I thought IUI with donor sperm may be a try and then move ...

IUI after IVF and successful?

Has anyone been successful with an IUI cycle after iVF? I was told that my eggs are bad and I have to use donor eggs. But I have a hard time believing that all my eggs are bad. All my tests came back with great results and now they declared me to have unexplained infertility. What is that?
Anyhow ...

Well, originially my DH has low sperm count and poor morphology with antisperm antibodies. They said that IVF with ICSI is the only way to go. But with our first try with the IVF they said that my egg quality was bad too and so I may have m/c. So we both have issues. I have not given up on my ...

IVF or IUI?

We were told by our RE that our egg quality was not good with the last IVF with ICSI. We did get pregnant but it ended in a m/c. So now that we are faced with using a donor, I am trying to think of an alternative.
Instead of IVF again, I was thinking of IUI with donor sperm. I know that the chances ...

Pregnancy vs. miscarriage symptoms

Hi Ladies,

My husband and I are going through a natural miscarriage now but the only hope that we have is to look forward to another IVF cycle. I was wondering if anyone has miscarried and then got pregnant the second time. If so, were your symptoms any different than the miscarriage? I am afraid ...

I miscarried at 5 weeks. I hope to attempt another IVF cycle with my own eggs or a donors. I felt like something was wrong a week or two before. But it was just too early to tell. still going through grieving and coping. I hope to be pregnant one day. Thanks for your thoughts.
