Hey ladies,
July is turning out pretty well for all us IVF people. LM- my sister has been doing ok. She says the shot leaves a bruise, but its not bad. How are you?
Jeck- I'm right there with you on the emotions. Man, I cannot sleep to save my life and I'm going crazy. But right now I'm excited!!

Hello ladies,

Just logging on to vent---sorry!!

I am turninginto IMPATIENTivfpatient!!! Every day that I go in for an u/s, the nurses call with me dosage orders. I've been in every day this last week and they've called back before 4. In the papers it says that if they do not call by 6 to contact the physician's exchange. At 6:01, I called the office to get the exchange number off the machine and a nurse answered. I didn't even hardly have to say anything and she was like--is this Amanda? She knew I would be calling. She said they were running late with the orders and he didn't know if he would have me be a Wednesday or a Friday retrieval. They had already told me Wednesday, that's why am so anxious about the call--it would be tonight for the HCG!!! Why are they waiting, I've had a lot of follies since day 4 of stims.

I have been reading the other posts and getting scared of OHSS. The doc hasn't even said ANYTHING about it, but I haven't had to take the meds and I had a gazillion follicles.

oooo--phone is ringing!

Finally, they call!! [6:50]!!!!!

She asked how my ovaries have been feeling--I said that all last week I could barely sit or stand or anything without feeling that they are going to explode and that I could feel every move of the u/s probe thingy, but ever since I stopped the meds, I have felt fine and couldn't feel a thing. She said that since I was feeling fine the last 3 appts, that they will do WEDNESDAY and that my estadiol levels were high, that is why I stopped the meds--and that now they are decreasing. I asked her what they were today and she said 32-31. I don't even know what that means because they never told me what they were on the other days....
.....was anyone else told their levels?

It made me mad because she was ready to get off the phone and still had not mentioned OHSS---so I just flat out asked--and she said YES, thats what they were worried about!!! Thanks for letting me know!!

Geez, I wouldn't even have known to ask about it if I hadn't been on this forum!!

They said that they will go ahead with the transfer on Wednesday and tell me in detail then what symptoms to look out for!

Ok, I think I'm done--I feel better now--thanks! Now I can jsut go to worrying aobut coming down with OHSS---yes, I've read that thread!!

Tonia,

Many blessings on your ET tomorrow! I hope that all goes well and that we'll be getting yet another July success story from you in a few weeks. I am so excited for you!

Amanda,

Goodness! It's all just around the corner....relax and let nature (and the doctors) run it's course. I'm sure I will be the same way when my time is near next month. You will be in my thoughts this entire week as we all wait to hear how it goes Wednesday.

Racquel CONGRATULATIONS! You give me hope and have kept the July thread moving in the right direction! Thanks for sharing and best wishes!

Encouragement

Post by racquel »

Thanks friends for all the nice congrats! Get this - for the first time today, a stranger asked me when I was due! Nurse says it's a combo of ovaries still swollen and uterus growing - can't believe I already have a bump. So be prepared for that ladies :) Maybe with IVF your stomach muscles know what's happening and just give in early ... that or mine are nonexistent, haha.

Amanda, your doctor will watch the OHSS closely whether they tell you or not (they probably don't want to worry you) - so let them do the worrying and you just try to keep yourself comfortable. It's a bit hazy but I believe they let me use a hot water bottle/heating pad even after transfer to help cut down the aching. (Definately ask first!) Also make sure you have a scale and thermomoter so you can record your levels a few times each day for 5 days, at least that was my dr's requirement.

Re: the ice or no ice debate w/PIO -- I swear it helps to use ice to numb your skin where most of the nerve endings are, and agree that putting the PIO bottle under your arm or something to warm it up before you draw the fluid helps, then rubbing and heat helps it settle in. At least it works for me....

Can't wait to hear more about retrievals and transfers - such an exciting and nerve-wrecking time, but you will get through it!!

Thanks for all the great information! Good luck to everyone!!!

I am feeling discouraged because I don't know what is normal...

I just got back from my scan and I still have the two cysts, but they aren't growing...which they said was good. I have six small follies (around 8-10). Is that a good number? I guess I was expecting more??? they are going to call me this afternoon with my instructions. Hopefully I will get some encouragement then.

LM,
Just be glad you don't have too many follies--worrying myself to death over too many!!!!

Racquel, thanks!!
You're prob. right about them not wanting me to worry, but until I actually go through with a transfer, I can't stop!!!!

They got 18 good eggs out today--calling tomorrow with fertilization report!!!

GOOD LUCK JECK!!!!

Amanda, that is great that you have 7 that fertilized! DIVIDE, DIVIDE...

I am feeling the stress of the IVF roller coaster... I know, you can't compare, but how can you not?
I went in for another scan and there are 5 good follies that he can see. Could more be hiding? He didn't change my meds and I go back on Monday. He said there are some littler ones that may catch up. Can I be so bold as to ask for some prayers that they catch up????? I am just worried that with only five follies we won't wind up with anything to actually transfer. I know it only takes one, but...what if they aren't all mature, or they don't all fertilize??? Please pray for me....

Thinking of you today Amanda...

IM.. you have my prayers sweetie... more could show up and the smaller ones can for sure get bigger fast... even after the HCG shot... (that makes them grow also) hang in there and we are here to lean on...

LM, when is your retrieval? You'll be surprised at how much it will change from appt. to appt. I will say an extra prayer for them to get growin'!!

Had my Transfer today!!!

Put back 2 grade ones!!!! Both 8 cell.

Had 2 other grade ones and a grade 2--all 8-cell and then a 6-cell. Will find out Tuesday if they can be frozen!!
