HI LADIES JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE ELSE IS GOING THROUGH THIS.....I JUST HAD MY 2ND ULTRA SOUND AND THE BABY HAS A HEARTBEAT BUT IT'S NOT GROWING MUCH. MY HCG IS STILL GOING UP SLOW, AND I SHOULD BE 9 WEEKS ALONG, BUT THE ULTRA SOUND IS ONLY SHOWING 6 WEEKS.....THE DR. SAID IT'S STILL OK BECAUSE THERE'S A HEARTBEAT, BUT THAT IS ALL HE SAID. ANYONE ELSE HAVE A SLOW STARTER AND THEN HAVING BETTER ULTRA SOUNDS DOWN THE ROAD? I THOUGHT I ONLY HAD 3 MORE WEEKS TO GO BEFORE THE 12 WEEK MARK.....AND NOW IT LOOKS LIKE I'M ONLY 1/2 WAY THERE NOW.

Wisconsingal,

Just a thought, has your dr tested you thyroid? Or pituitary? I have previous problems with those so my dr always checks them, but when my hcg was a bit slow he upped my thyroid dosage. I don't know maybe you have a problem with one of those? Anyway, just a thought.

Hope it all goes well, what a relief to still have a heartbeat, I've been wondering how you are. Hang it there!!!

I HAVE MY THYROID TESTED EVERY YEAR......BUT NEVER MY PITUITARY......I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE SEEN THE HEARTBEAT AGAIN....BUT THIS HAS BEEN ONE ROLLER COASTER BUMP AFTER ANOTHER, I'M SO READY HEAR SOME POSITIVE NEWS.....AND SEE THE BABY GROWING LIKE "NORMAL". IT'S SO HARD TO STAY POSITIVE WHEN I SHOULD BE 9 WEEKS ALONG, AND THE ULTRA SOUND SHOWS 6, IT JUST DOESN'T LOOK PROMISING......I'M WAITING FOR MY BLOOD WORK RESULTS, WHICH WON'T COME BACK TILL AFTER LUNCH TIME.....SO IF MY HCG IS STILL RISING HE SAID WE'LL SEE YA BACK IN 2 WEEKS......THEN WHEN I ASKED HIM ABOUT DOES A 4 CELL TAKE LONGER TO DEVELOPE THAN PUTTING BACK A 6 OR 8 CELL.....HE SAID "WE JUST DON'T KNOW.......LET'S WAIT ANOTHER 2 WEEKS AND TAKE ANOTHER LOOK". I TELL YA, I'VE BEEN ON A 2WW SINCE JAN. 26TH WHEN I HAD MY ET AND I THINK I'M GOING NUTS EVERYTIME I HEAR IT NOW.

WISCONSINGAL, Did the RE tell you if the heartbeat was strong? Hopefully you have good news after you get your blood resutls later today. Don't give up hope :)

MY RE does weekly scans/blood until 8 weeks - then they discharge you if everything is good. Had my 7 weeks scan yesterday and they say all is good. I noticed my Beta HCG's are not rising as quickly as they did in the beginning. They seem to be only doubling every 7 days now - is that normal as you move on in the pg? My levels have always been kind of high - I'm at 99,885 at 7w 1dy.

Welcome Lis! Congrats! How have you been feeling so far?

Shanny, How are you feeling? Is the antibitoic helping?

BYe for now,
Karen

Wisconsingal - it certainly is hard to wait from scan to scan. I sympathize with you. Hang on to that heartbeat and think positive! It is the only way to go! I'll be thinking of you.

kbarry - I have heard that the increase in HCG levels does slow down as you progress. I googled "HCG levels during pregnancy" and found a chart that showed this.

I had my 7 week scan and saw a heartbeat for the first time today, too! I cried for joy on and off for about 30 minutes! They said it was 143 bpm and that was strong. I just can't believe it and am getting misty again now just thinking about it. The little one is measuring at 6 weeks 5 days.

Luckily, my RE does weekly scans until 10 weeks before releasing me to the OB/GYN. Still, the wait can be hard, wondering if I am going to make it one more week . . .

JUST CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!

Hey Ladies!

Wisconsingal~ Can't wait to hear some good news for you. I'll be thinking of you and praying for great news until I hear it from you!

Zoegirl~ CONGRATS! It's one thing to get a BFP but a whole different thing to see and hear them really there. What a moment you two will never forget! Very happy for you!

kbarry~ This could be wrong but I thought I read that your hcg levels sill start to level off and be back to almost nothing by the end of pregnancy. For some reason, I think I read what is happening to you is the way it is suppose to be. Still, sounds like things are going really great for you and I couldn't be happier! Take care!

Haylie~ I agree with Anne of Green Gables! LOVE IT!!!!!! I have already bought the book and it is on the list of firsts to read as a chapter book to the babies. When I was a nanny during college I read it to the children I cared for and we just loved our chapter reads before I went home for the day. Wish life was that simple and pure now days!

Better start figuring what dinner is going to be or there might not be any!

Wisconsingal - I really hope things get better for you.

As for me I'm still feeling really nauseous all the time, I really don't fancy food I can eat it if it's put in front of me but not think about it otherwise I feel sick. I am also finding it hard to sleep on my belly (my fav position) my boobs are really sore (they feel like 2 bowling balls!) and my belly is bloated. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about any of this because of course I'm so happy to be actually be pregnant. I'm also in a dilema about my next scan, DH (who left me in the middle of treatment) wants to come with me. Part of me wants him to because I'm still heartbroken over him going and I do want him to have a good relationship with my baby but on the other hand it's so emotional, everyday I cry over our situation and I think he gave up all rights when he left me. What do you think I should do? My mum came with me to my last scan.

Anyway hope you mums to be are all taking it easy

Take care

Haylie...You are sure in a tough spot....Go with your heart. It will not lead you in the wrong direction. I can not imagine how you could feel right now. Stay strong and good luck with your decision.

Thanks girls, my heart will probably let him come I suppose deep down I am hoping he will change his mind but at the moment he is adamant he has made the right decision. The house is up for sale and he has moved out, he wants to be friends but I'm finding it really hard I suppose it is still so raw, he has hurt me too much, hopefully in time we can be friends, I don't want things to get nasty because of the baby.

Hope you are all having a good day

Haylie, sounds like you are taking the right approach. It must be really hard for you. I hope things go well and you are able to keep a positive outlook. Sounds like the baby is doing great so keep that as your focus :)

So, I'm finally starting to understand the m/s you've all been talking about. Yikes. I started with just about all day, every day nausea on Monday of this week (just over 7 weeks). I need to eat every two hours - my stomach starts growling like crazy, and I get that sick feeling. I know it is a good thing though :)

I have my final u/s with the RE this coming sunday (3/18), then I'm off to the OB on 3/19. I'm going to miss the weekly scans (meaning, weekly reassurance that everything is OK).

I also made the mistake of doing too much internet research - I read that high beta hcg's can indicate down's syndrome. Mine have been very high from the start. I talked to the RE about it - they seem to think that there may have been a twin in there that "resolved itself" which elevated the levels, but they can't be certain. They should take the internet away from Pg women :)

Hope everyone is doing well!

I totally agree about surfing the internet! I am guilty of spending a lot of time doing that! I have a genetic clotting disorder (I have never had any problems with it) & now I am convinced I will have a second trimester miscarrige! I went to see a specialist yesterday & she told me my risk was about 1%, however the info on the internet says otherwise. Lets stay away from it!!!!!!

You girls are totally cracking me up! The interenet is almost as evil as a HPT if you ask me. It's so funny that we are all so guilty of the same things. Thanks for the giggle!

Haylie~ What a hard situation but it really does seem like you taking the high road and thinking of the baby and not yourself. Hopefully things will all work out as they should. Things are certainly still raw but I really admire that you are staying so strong and unselfish. Best of luck to you!

Have great night girls!
