Tina- I stayed sick to my stomach with headaches until I started the Menopur. Then I was fine. Now on Day 7 of the stims I am quite nauseas. I am sensitive to this so I wonder if it is from my estrogen going up. Tina& MGB- I have been doing acupuncture for about 2 1/2 months. I love it. I ask her to give me the relaxing points with all my other stuff and it can be great. I have responded better and my FSH went down and the only thing that changed with me was the acupuncture. So I am a believer. I also have a great lining already. I am at 11 which is better than I have ever been before. Off to work- have a great day everyone!

Hey girls!!!

So sorry it has been a while since a post....our Comcast went down.

Welcome to all of the newcomers (missleine & mary beth)! Missleine, I had a friend who had the same thing happened. & now with a different protocol they just had a healthy baby boy!

Went in for ER yesterday & they got 7 eggs and just got a call this AM and 5 were fertilized. I think my husband pulled over on the side of the road and was crying. This is such an emotional process!

I am thinking of everyone and will keep you guys in the loop.

babY0807 - do you go in this Friday for ER? If so, it was a breeze and I didn't take any of the pain meds......I think they just make you loopy, but it was such an easy experience.

Hi, ladies!

LAIVF - Ok, now I know all these drugs are starting to get to me because your post just brought tears to my eyes (I am really not a very emotional kind of woman most of the time!). I am so happy for you and that is so sweet that your husband was that emotional about it all. What a sweetie!! You are right - this is unbelievably emotional. The whole experience is such a roller coaster!! Congrats on the 5 fertilized eggs! And thanks for the update on the ER as I have to admit that it makes me a little nervous!! GOOD LUCK!! We will be sending good thoughts your way!! :D Keep us posted on on your little eggies are progressing!!

MBG - Burning incense on the belly??? Oh hell, no. :) That whole process was stressful enough for me. The guy doing the accupuncture kept looking in on me and telling me to "relax". I couldn't - I was a nervous wreck!! I kept thinking I might turn and jab one of those needles clear through my arm!! Oh no - they better not burn anything on my belly. I had enough issues with it all yesterday!! :P And no, I am not taking antibiotics. Only my husband is right now. They said mine won't start until the day of the ER. It is so weird how all the docs differ in what they prescribe!

Baby0807 - thanks for the accupuncture positive comments. As you can tell from my above comments to MBG, the whole thing weirded me out a little!!! :) And I guess I feel better knowing that I am not the only one going through these symptoms of feeling nauseated and the headaches. Uggghhh...oh well, hopefully it won't last too much longer!! :)

As for me, I had my appt this morning and had about 15 follicles with the largest being a "9". My estrogen level was still fairly low, so they are doubling up my Menopur starting today. What fun! :D Believe it or not -I go back at 7:45 a.m. on THANKSGIVING for my next sono and b/w. I can't believe they want to see us on Thanksgiving. We were going to do the "Turkey Trot" that morning which is a 4 mile run/walk, but looks like my husband will get out of it (he really wasn't thrilled with the idea - of course he probably won't be thrilled with going to the doc at 7:45 a.m. that morning either!!). :) Oh well, I will happily pig out right after on turkey and all the fixings!!

Hello to everyone else!!!

Hi Ladies!
I have no excuse for not writing and I will be off again soon for the holiday. I just wanted to wish folks a Happy Thanksgiving! (Congrats to LAIVF - Great news on your success! Good Luck on your ER babY0807)
Good luck to all! I am happy we are nearing the end of this cycle. I think my hormones are completely out of control. I am usually a pretty sane person. I know I have over a week until I start the 2ww and all this waiting is really killing me!
I go in for b/w tomorrow but I don't have my first u/s since starting stims until Friday. That's after the 7th injection. I guess I am frustrated with all the waiting and am wondering about my progress. UGH!!!
Anyhow, thanks for the quick vent. I hope all goes well for everyone!
I wish you all baby dust, good luck, lots of turkey and yummy pie on Thursday!

LA- Congratulations- I am so happy for you and DH. When are they putting them back in. First we worry about our eggs, then fertilization.... It goes on and on. Itsgottawork: it may be a blessing. All the early U/S do are make me worry about each result. Tina- you shouldn't be running in a Turkey Trot anyway(my opinion) but there is alot of research that shows it can effect your fertility. I love to run and exercise and this time I am not. I may be crankier because of it. But worth it in the long run. I have another U/S in the morning which will determine if I am ready to trigger. I will let you know how it goes.

Hello everyone!!

LaIVF: CONGRATULATIONS!! :D I too got emotional while reading about your husband. I am soooo happy for the two of you!! When is your ET?
Grow embies Grow!!!! :D ! I wish you all the best!

TinaO: I was much more relaxed during my acupuncture session today as I knew what to expect. She even put needles in my head to help with my congestion! Who knew!! I do have to say the burning medicine did still freak me out a little. I kept trying to look at the needle to make sure it wasn't bending too close to my skin!! I was fine..no needle/burning medicine malfunctions. Phew!!
Good luck @ your appt. on Turkey day! Grow follies Grow!!! :D

BabyYO807: That is great to hear about your success with acupuncture!!
My FSH level has been on the high end of the normal range.
I go tomorrow for my U/s and BW.
Good luck tomorrow!! I hope your follies are just the right size to trigger!! :D

Good luck to everyone and Lot's of Baby Dust!!!

Hi girls!

Well, I had my first u/s b/w this morning, since starting the stims last Saturday. I'm a bit nervous because they saw 27 follies, none that were mature, mostly 6, 7, 8mm in size. I'm waiting to hear from them this afternoon to see what they want me to do about my stims - increase or decrease. OHSS is something I truly want to avoid at all cost, as I'm sure all of you share that same feeling.

I haven't really had many side effects. A mild headache here and there, and every once in a while I can feel a little flutter around my ovaries. I did wake up this morning feeling bloated & I guess just plain full.

Luckily, DH and I are both off today through Sunday. So, I'll be able to just chill, put my feet up & relax (after baking a few pies today  ). I go back in again on Friday morning for u/s & b/w.

This Thanksgiving I'm thankful for:
1. Fertility drugs & the IVF process - otherwise we'd be screwed!
2. this message board
3. not having to travel to see my crazy MIL!
4. Kashi brand - oatmeal, dark chocolate chip cookies - fabulous!
5. great health insurance (who knows how long that will last!)

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone!
I'll update later on when I hear back from the doc!

Hello everyone!!

Dancinnancy: Congrats on all the follies...your ovaries have been buisy this past week! :D You are right! I think OHSS should be considered a curse word on this thread!!! :P

I too just got back from my U/S and BW...I have 6 follies on my right (4 of decent size from 8-12) and 6 follies on my left (again 4 measuring of decent size 8-10) I keep telling myself it only takes one good egg!!!

Good luck!

I am sure I will get on here again ( because I am now addicted) but if not....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!! Relax and eat till you can't eat anymore!!....we have to nourish those growing follies!

I just got back from my U/S and I will have to take 1 more day of Stims. So my ER will be on Saturday. Which is good. I have 12 follicles and they are hoping to have 8-10 mature follicles by the time they retrieve them on Sat. That's not much so they better be good!! Is anyone else getting crazy bloated. My Stomach already looks pregnanct. I am waiting for my E2 to come back so that I know the hormones are keeping up with the follicles.

Danci: Great follicles. Your ovaries have been busy. maybe they will slow you down a little. I am scared of OHSS also.
MGB: Your looking good- 12 is great you will probably grow more.
LA: How are you feeling? What did they have you drink afterward?

My Dr called yesterday to tell me to INCREASE my gonal f to 150! Um, that is double the dose I was on & I have 27 lil' follies from that! I'm hoping at this point in my cycle, maybe I won't produce many more, and the ones that I do have will just mature to the right size. I know they are the experts & they know what they are doing, so I just need to chill & eat a ton of great food today!
Have a great day everyone!
Much Love!

Hey ladies! Happy Thanksgiving!

Baby0807 - after ER my DH & I went straight to get a burrito, I was starving. I know they say to not eat anything heavy afterwards, but I had too :).

Got the phone call today that I will transfer on Saturday...that is day 5. This has been the most nerve racking process ever. & I don't think it's over any time soon! We are super excited the eggs have made it this far... :)!

A little insight.....anyone who is about to get there trigger shot.....the 2nd night after you give yourself the shot get ready for your chest and stomach to be acting as if you are 5 months prego. I couldn't even sleep on my stomach and my boobs were huge & achy!!!

Thinking & praying for everyone!!!!

LA- that is great. I go for my ER tommorrow. I gave my trigger last. I will have Demerol/Phenergan and Halcion prior to. I will probably fall asleep. I respond prettty strong to meds. A day 5 transfer is great. I wish my RE would do that.

MGB: I have gained about 3lbs since my stims. But I usually lose a little in the 2WW because the high progesterone levels and the trigger make me nauseas.

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! I worked hard to nourish my follicles LOL.

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well! We went to the clinic yesterday anhd we had 16 follies with the largest being a "12", so they are keeping us on the same meds and we go back on Sun morning at 7:45 a.m. ER is now looking like it will most likely be the 28th. I am getting nervous...very nervous. I was hoping for a few more because I am scared of not all of them being good or not maturing. I don't know. I guess I am freaking myself out about it all and I am SICK of these shots. Uggghhhhh. Oh well - all for a good cause, right?? I know I need to keep a positive attitude!! :D

Ok, so I have to ask about the progesterone oil shots. I have been told I will have to take them through the 1st trimester? Can someone elaborate on these? Are they as painful as they seem? How hard are they to do? My husband is also a little worried about them. Any insight you can share would be appreciated! I did the suppositories during my IUI's and while not fun, they at least were not painful - just yucky!! :? Anyway, any information you can share with me is appreciated for those of you that have knowledge of these shots!

We are getting close to our 2 ww periods!!! Yeah!!! I am going for round 2 of my accupuncture today. Hopefully I can relax this time!! :)

Hi Girls!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving! And that you all had a chance to relax and laugh with family and friends!

dancinnancy: It sounds like everything is going well with your follicles and the doctors aren't worried about OHSS. That is great news :) I am also thankful for you guys and the chance to share and vent on this board!

babY0807: Yahoo! ER is tomorrow! I'll continue to pray that all goes well and that all follies fertilize! Let us know how it went as soon as you feel up to it.

LAIVF: You ate burritos after your ER...hahahahahaha! So, you transfer tomorrow! Wow! I'm so happy that you are able to do a 5-day transfer. That is what we are hoping for too. Do you know how many they will transfer? Good luck and give us the news when you can!

tinaO: 16 follies! Yipee! My ER is scheduled for the 27th, so we are a day apart :) As for the progesterone in oil, I am sorry to say, they are the worst shots I've ever taken!

First, make sure that you are not allergic to the oil they put it in. They can use peanut oil, sesame oil, etc. So just check what they will use in case you have any allergies.

The most important thing to do, I think, is to warm the vial for about a half an hour in your bra or under your arm before you give the shot. The oil is very, very thick...so it can be difficult to push through the needle. So if you warm it first on your body, it will thin it out a little. If it's thinner, it also feels a little better going into your muscle.

Also, a little massage around the area the shot was given helps. This helps to distribute the oil. Again, my doctor seems to LOVE the shots going into the most painful places! I have to get the shots in my arms. By the end of the day, I am not able to lift my arm to the side...and this pain can last for several days. However, I have NO problems when it is given in my rear. I had to beg to be able to alternate between my arms and my rear so that I'm only hitting the same spot every 4th day. The progesterone shot will be the shot that all other shots will be measured against! If you can survive them, you can survive anything! :)

Anyway, I went back to the doctor today for b/w and u/s again. Everything looks great! I actually saw 2 doctors who said that this is an "excellent" cycle. The other doctor even said "wow!" when she first saw my follicles. I have 20+ total. They were hoping for at least 14, so this is good news. This is very encouraging and I hate to be pessimistic, BUT...I always seem to respond very well to medications and everything looks "perfect" or "textbook", but then I still get a BFN or the BFP doesn't last! It's pretty frustrating. But I am just going to remain calm, try not to think about all the things that could go wrong, and just concentrate on the positives we get from the doctor. Easier said than done, but I will try!

So, my ER is scheduled for this Tuesday, Nov 27th @ 8:30am. I can't wait as I am starting to feel the 20 follies pushing out my stomach! Ha ha.

Good luck everyone and keep in touch!
