Hello lovely ladies!
You guys are right, the board has been a bit sleepy! Whew, I was expecting TONS of posts to catch up... But here's an update anyway!
My friend is doing much better. Still nervous, but at least the fact she's pregnant is sinking in. We spent about 6 hours together on Thursday. Managed to make her buy the two pregnancy books I bought when I was pregnant (pregnancy book and nutrition book for pregnant women). Her DH was very surprised, although he had been thinking about a possible BFP all day long, given that her period still had not started. He already started to be over-protective, and told her repeatedly that he didn't want her to have a big behind. Not very nice (as if she could control it?!?!), but apparently one of our friends really enlarged from there during her first pregnancy. My friend is already worried about putting on weight, but I'm sure they'll both get over it. Her first beta (19 das after IUI) was 650, which is superb. She had a 2nd beta done yesterday, but she doesn't know the results yet. All in all, things are wonderful and I'm very excited for her. She's already asked me to be present during her labor and delivery; of course I'll be there! But LOL I know she might change her mind during the pregnancy.

What's nice is that we've decided to take yoga classes, we'll start in September! We have to take an initiation course together, and then she'll have to take the prenatal classes. I'll take them with her whether or not I'm pregnant. That's the whole point after all; take classes together!
...and we went shopping and I spent an insane amount of money on really good quality clothes... you know, those days when everything fits? Bought two amazing tops, one with a leopard print and one black and brown with big red roses. Those tops are amazing, they really hold everything together and the fabric makes it impossible to see ANY bump or love handle on those fat days when AF is about to show up. The front is very subtly padded, so it makes you quite a nice rack... (can't wait until pregnancy makes me fill it even better!) I also bought a satin short-sleeved blouse, jewel blue, and a one-piece (pants and top), black (first time I buy that but I swear it's like it had been cut for my body type). And a nice long top for the fall and winter, burgundy. And a nice necklace; my friend bought the same.
Tomorrow is one of the big days... ultrasound at 8am! I'm almost certain I'll have a perfect lining (always had), but the fact I lost one ovary might change things, who knows? So I'm looking forward to know. Plus it will be great to look at all the structures inside now that I'm recovered from the surgery... see if everything is still squeaky clean in there!
My friend will make a few calls and she'll be in standby for FET day. If it's Wednesday, my DH won't be able to be there. Silly, really, but he had a presentation day changed long ago, and he's the one presenting, so he won't be able to cancel. It's not a big deal, really. But I asked my friend if she wanted to come, and she'll be there if it's on Wednesday. She'll drive me home and I'll watch DVDs for the rest of the afternoon. Thing is, I'll know only a few hours before, hence the standby. If it's Thursday, then DH will be there of course. No matter what day it is, I just hope my embies will survive the thaw.
nimble,
you're such a trooper!!! I'm so sorry your little one hasn't showed up yet!! At least you've got cupcakes....!

Don't give up sweetie, it's coming!!! I'm rooting for you and DH and I hope you have a nice time with Shantala! Hope you'll see her little cutie; tell us about how they're doing!
Shantala,
Hi darling! How are you? So you and nimble live close to each other? How lucky!!!! I yet have to meet a fellow canadian or quebecker here...

Yup, I'll reach the coveted princess status either on Wednesday or Thursday! Yay!
Miracle,
Hehehehe I don't think you're a weirdo at all. Here in Quebec, we often complain about harsh winters, but I think most people are quite happy to have 4 distinct seasons. Sometimes, I wish the climate was a bit warmer just so we could grow more vegetables and flowers, and longer. But I've been to San Diego for a convention a few years ago. THe climate is wonderful: around 23 degrees Celsius all the time, sunny... but we all thought that we'd eventually get sick of that even weather. Rainy cold days make you appreciate sunny ones!
Personally, I love sun, but I hate hot and humid weather, and we've got plenty here during summer. It's a very humid climate. So I understand you, Miracle!

I'd LOVE to live in England, in fact, I discussed moving to the UK with my DH. But UK or France would both be nice for me. I love the European lifestyle, and the amazing nature there. Granted, there's plenty of forests and crops and so on here in Canada, but it doesn't have the same feel. I'm half Belgian, and that half is half English, so I guess that explains part of the longing!

Bottom line is, you're not a freak!
hrobinson,
woohoo on getting unpacked!

:D:D I understand the feeling!!! Sorry about that AC! At least it was only for a couple of hours! Yup, I watched the finale... LOVED Mia's choreography at the end! So electric! And how about Nigel dancing? That was so cute! I'm happy to see the judges dance, I mean, you can criticize people all you want, but at least show me what YOU can do!

As for the winners and runner-ups, I didn't watch the whole season, so I had no idea. Loved to see the best choreographies at the end, though. So you tap dance? How nice!

I loved the classes I took, long ago. Had to lose all those reflexes when I started flamenco, though. With tap, you're "above" the floor, whereas with flamenco, you have to really be "into" the floor. Quite a difference! What made you start dancing?
Hi Rachel!

Sorry to hear ruby was siiiick! But at least she's recovering!

*hugs*
Okay, gotta run to bed guys. Take care and I'll update as soon as I can tomorrow after the ultrasound!
