Keeping everything crossed for you!!!!! As for the symptoms, don't read anything into them; progesterone intake makes them look like a pregnancy, or AF, or many other things! Sorry to hear that emotions are all over the place.., it happens, both becaose of what we're going through, and because we're taking so many hormones!!!

Take care ladies! How you're doing well!

Morning ladies,

Okay, so the technician called while I was writing personals... and I have the news. And they are not so good. 2 frosties survived, but... she said they were "moderate quality", whatever that means. It's all in the way she phrased it, it was horrible... "They were 6 cells yesterday, and this morning there was one brown cell, so a dead cell... but they were 8 cells this morning, so that's why we'll transfer them, because they're dividing." The way she said it... like they baaarely made it and we'll transfer them but they're really borderline...

Ouch, this is bad... DH was disappointed too. I mean, there's ALWAYS something wrong with our cycles. Before, there was ALWAYS a problem with my body. OHSS, big cysts, liquid in my tubes, HUGE right tube, and so on. Always something. Never the embies. And now, when my body is finally cooperating after 3 surgeries, the embies are moderate quality. I'm SO angry and sad and disappointed at the same time! I remember our last frosties... there were so many cells on transfer day!!! I mean, like 15-16 cells!!! They had been frozen on day 3, just like these. And now our frosties barely made it to 8 cells!!! 8 miserable cells on day 4!!!! Oh, this is not good at all...

I know what I must do. I know that many people here had low-quality embies and they became pregnant, I know, I've read their posts. I've seen them be miserable as I am right now, and become pregnant all the same. I also know that everything is happening exactly the way it should, even if I don't understand everything or if it seems terribly unfair. I know I'm hard on them. They're just a little sleepy, they're not abnormal, just a little slow. I know I should welcome those little embies no matter what quality they are and give that 2ww my very best, give them an honest chance even in my head. But it's really hard to do right now.

Okay, okay... silly as it seems, that's working. Sleepy embies. I can live with that. Cells are normal, one dead cell is not the end of the world even if it's the first time it happens. They're just dividing slowly, but still, they're dividing. They're alive. They survived the thaw but they need to wake up a little bit and realize they have to do the work now. I'll give them a chance. The rest is completely out of my hands and I have to live with that. That's what faith is about, right? No guarantees... but you do jump in with all your might all the same.

So that's the news ladies... I'll go to the clinic at 10:30 for the transfer. And I'll try to be in a better mood by then! ;) talking to the nurses and doc will help I'm sure.

Lots of hugs ladies! Sorry the news isn't better...

Oh Sophie, I'm so sorry to hear it. It sounds like your experience was very similar to my FET, except that the news was delivered with far less tact!

Honestly, I think it's great that they are 8 cells now. They are growing! My doctor was legitimately encouraged to see that my sleepy empryos had started growing. So please don't lose hope! I've read stories here of 2-cell embryos resulting in a baby.

Ericka, where are you hon?

kldavis, hang in there!

My RE called yesterday and said that we could try another FET or go straight to another fresh cycle. I explained that we wanted to thaw our remaining 6 embryos and transfer all viable ones. It was a little frustrating to hear her talk about the inferior quality of our remaining frosties. If they are so inferior, why even bother to freeze them?

Sophie:
Interesting that your lab will grow out your frozen 3 day embies. Mine won't ( I asked). I would say if they are growing, you are in good shape!
Give your embies a good pep talk! Let us know what they say while you are at their transfer, the RE may have a different story. Either way, you are PUPO!!!

Kerpupples: I would be so irritated that she said that about your embies. I would want to use my remaining frosties also! Let us know what you end up doing.

Hello ladies,

First of all, thank you so very much for your words of encouragement!

ET went well. We asked the embryologist a few questions and things don't look so bad at all after all. She explained that the cells died during the freezing and thawing. She mentioned them because the embryos were tinted sliiiightly brown because of that. So it's not really because the embryos are poor quality per se; a few cells died during the freezing and thawing, it happens. Now they're dividing nicely; they were more than 8 cells when we looked at them. And the new cells are normal and transparent. She said she's seen women become pregnant with that kind of embryos. They might be "medium quality" to her, but to us, they seem strong and very much alive despite the couple of dead cells.

DH and I are far more hopeful now. In fact, all the negative feelings are gone, and now I'm just settling in 2ww mode. Beta will be sooner than expected, August 26th at 1pm. We'll begin our holiday on the 20th, so we'll try to do fun things and keep busy until then. I just watched 27 dresses (cute film) and I've also rented PS I Love You. Not sure I'll watch it today. It's sunny and just warm enough outside. I think I'll grab a few lavender cookies I made on Tuesday, a glass of juice and I'll go on the terrace for some stitching, reading, and birthday dinner planning! ;) I have the DVD until Friday next week, so...

Take care girls,

Sophie xxox

Bonjour mesdames!!

Kim,
LOL thanks for your nice enthusiasm! wow! :D

kldavis,
Hi sweetie, yeah it's nice to have a 2ww buddy! My beta will be on the 26th! Glad to hear that your second week is better than the first, lol, it's usually the contrary!!!! What makes it better for you? Sending lots of sticky baby glue your way too!!! :D

So here's my recipe for lavender cookies:

2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup sugar
½ teaspoon sea salt
2 free-range eggs, well beaten
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 teaspoon lavender buds
2½ unbleached all-purpose flour

In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar and salt until fluffy. Add the beaten eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add in the flour and mix on low speed just until the dough is coming together. Sprinkle in the lavender buds and fold in gently (don't overmix).

Divide the dough into two mounds and wrap up well in plastic. Chill in the refrigerator for one hour at last.

Preheat oven to 375F. Flour your work surface (a lot!) and unwrap the dough. Take half of it out and wrap the other half to keep chilled in the fridge while you work. Roll out the dough with a floured rolling pin, taking care not to overstretch the tender dough.

Cut out shapes with cookie cutters. Carefully move the cookie shapes to nonstick cookie sheets, placing them ½-inch apart, fitting as many as possible on each sheet.

Bake, two sheets at a time, until the cookies are golden brown (I prefer them still white), about 6-8 minutes. Cool on a rack and store in an airtight container. Makes about 3 dozen.

OOooooh Steph!!! Thanks for the nice graphic!!! What makes you think about your FET in my experience exactly? Hope you're having a super duper weekend!

Love,

Sophie xxox

hi all!!

sophie: thanks for the recipe.. will try it when I get back home from work next Thursday. Finally!! I will be home. Being out of town during some of this 2ww has been no picnic(but some of Sophie's cookies would be good for a picnic come to think of it
How have you been feeling? I have been a little better. I guess the 2nd week has been easier because beta gets nearer and nearer. See, dh and I have been married 11 years. Been ttc for about half of that time.. long time. We got very close a couple of times. So, in a way.. this is kind of the beginning for us... after 3 losses,2 failed IVFs, we are now at the stage of THIS HAS GOT TO WORK!! and if it doesn't then we will take the next step in trying for the family we have always wanted. We will look into surrogacy. So, if it works then bring out the fireworks!!!!! On the other hand, if it doesn't I guess it will take us out of this limbo and put a new chapter in our journey with a surrogate.
And, thinking of poas tomorrow... so it will be an interesting day. Wish me luck!!!
Baby dust to all the ladies and dh's!!!

Hello guys!

kldavis,
so, did you POAS??? what was the result??? I hope you're okay sweetie! Tomorrow is the big day, I think? How as your weekend? I'm keeping everything crossed for you dear!!!

Yesterday was my 30th birthday and I had my best friend over with her husband. The party went very well. The 7-course meal was shortened to 5 courses, lol, because my portions were a little too big (two people cancelled at the last minute). The food was a huge hit though, my best friend and her husband really liked it. As for the two-tiered cake, it was shortened to one-tiers; I froze the smaller tiers for later use, as well as its frosting. I was quite proud of myself though; the cake looked nice, as did the flower arrangement (made it myself). I had a very special moment in the afternoon when, finally, after 15 years, I opened the boxes my Belgian grandparents gave me as an early wedding gift. Inside, I found my great-great-grandmother's china. She was born in 1895 and received it as a wedding gift in 1904 when she married a jockey from Cambridge. That china has a lot of history, it's beautiful, and I was really happy to use if for such a special occasion (I turned 30). I'll sure use it again whenever we have guests at the house. I took pics of the whole thing; I'll put them on photobucket for my family. Aaaaaand inside one of the boxes, my grandma had put a little note with three pieces of clothing my mother knit for me as I was fighting for my life during my first month (I was born 2 months early). How cute is that??? Aw, I hope I'll use them one day!

Speaking of which, I feel very pregnant. I've been feeling pulling and mini-cramping, I've been increasingly tired and forgetful. Hadn't felt any cramping with the progesterone the last three times... it's just that feeling that I'm pregnant... very special, and I hope it's true!!!

And my DH made me the greatest gift yesterday morning... and I realized he'd been lying to my face for weeks!!!!! ugh! We've been talking about adopting a second dog for two months. At the beginning, he seemed motivated, and then he started having second thoughts. When I talked about it, he would not really reply anything, he seemed to avoid the issue with me, or he expressed second thoughts. And on the morning of my birthday, he came to me with a gift bag... guess what I found in it... a leash! LOL The little bugger!!!! So we talked about it more seriously, and decided to adopt a smaller dog than our lab/golden mix. We don't like lapdogs, though, so not that small. We applied on this dog:

http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displa ... d=11629053

My mother owned a welsh corgi for 18 years and she ADORED that dog. Apparently, they're very intelligent, and amazing family dogs. Her corgi played with her two rottweilers very well, so it reassured us that she could be a nice companion for our dog. The shelter is supposed to call us after they review our application form. Keep your fingers and toes crossed!

Okay guys, gottta go, but have a very nice day!!!!
