Hello ladies!
Aaaawwwwwwwwwwwwww it's great to have some time off!!!! The weather is SO NICE you wouldn't believe it! Yesterday, my best friend Anne, who is pregnant, came to visit with her two dogs, and in the afternoon we both needed to rest so we went under the huge tree in my backyard and just lay there, listening to the lovely August nature sounds... amazing! And I did it again this afternoon!
On Wednesday, our family grew bigger! We went to the SPCA to take a look at the available dogs there... we walked a few, but didn't find THE ONE at first... either I wasn't falling in love, or it was DH... and after a while, I lingered near a cage in a corner at the very back of the room... there was a nice dog in there, extra sweet, who approached me gently and let me scratch him and caress him... and *closed his eyes* as I was caressing him...
His story is very sad. That sweet boy was abandoned by his mommy when he moved; the owner found him locked alone in the apartment. The SPCA suspects that he has not seen the outdoors very often and was probably abused. He recoiled in complete terror when the lady put him on a leash, and no matter how hard she tried to drag him outside the building so we could walk with him, he just refused to move. He just stood there, terrified, shaking so much his hind legs and his rear had tremors. In the end, DH had to pick him up in his arms and carry him outside!! So we sat with him and caressed him; he glued EVERY inch of his body against me. And after a few minutes, he seemed to realize that, hey, there are all sorts of nice smells and things to discover outside! And he started walking with us and grew more confident with each step!
We both fell in love. He is a Shepard/Collie mix, 1 year old. He has a black nose and the rest of his body is tan. His toes are white and freckled with red, so cute! The tip of his tail is white too; it looks like a paint brush. They had named him Picasso, but we didn't like it. We named him Toulouse (as in Toulouse-Lautrec). He LOVED the car ride; he's the type of dog who loves to stick its head through the open window and just watch everything with a big smile, tongue and ears in the wind...

Our other dog, Daria, accepted him without any fuss. THe male-female combo usually works best; no domination wars. Plus he is so submissive that she did not feel threatened one bit. Even the cat wasn't traumatized; he's slightly bigger than our dog and yet he is very discreet. No barking... he whines a little whenever one of us leaves the house or goes upstairs (he's still scared of the staircase). But I can tell you, he is making HUGE progress every day. He will be completely transformed before long. If you want to see him (and our furbaby girl), you can go there:

Kim,
I know, it's weird how sometimes you crave for something and the next minute the smell grosses you out! This time, it's more like... I bake a lot of food, and then I eat it for dinner and for lunch and after that I'm completely incapable of feeling hungry for that dish again. In the evening, I suddenly am hungry, but I can't seem to find anything in the fridge that really tempts me. Can't wait to hear about how the ultrasound went! My best friend had hers last Wednesday; one healthy beanie!
And please, PLEASE don't worry about spotting. 80% of woment will bleed during their first trimester. I've had spotting, and I've had serious bleeding and miscarriage and I can tell you: when you're REALLY in trouble, you know right away. If you're not sure, it's probably nothing! Pinkish is nothing, believe me! Even if you do bleed one day, do call your doctor, but know that everything is FAR from being over. Remember the 80%... I know someone who bled severely during her first six months!!! Her daughter is now 16 years old and a real pain in the neck, like all teenagers, lol!
Kerpupples,
Keeping everything crossed for you dear, fingers and toes!!!

:D:D
I wish you an amazing weekend!
Hugs and kissies,
