Kelly you should be holding your babes today i'm taking a wild guess and guessing you were lucky to have a boy and girl if not two boys i wonder if i'm right congrats again hope all went smoothly and your recovering well
let us know info as soon as your up to it

Rio just one point i thought of after reading your post if you plan to have more bubbies and you are having a planned ceasar and if you will want to try naturally for your next baby let them know this before they take you in .The docotrs take into account where you are cut and the direction in which they cut you amongst other things when deciding if it's safe for you to try a vbac 2nd time around so it may be something to mention and discuss with your doc if you are wanting more babies and if you want to try natural next time round. Regardless how exciting all the action is happening are you organized oh you may also want to ask about the drugs they give you i am requesting a spinal epidural combination if i end up needing an emergancy ceasar again if you don't have the combination injection you can feel all the pulls, tugs and pressure which is meant to be awful not painful just not the nicest of feelings just something else to think about.

Corny Great news onb Abigail sounds like you have a strong little fighter on your hands couldn't hear better news from you

Cin sorry your not having a smooth ride thankfully you far enough along to have bub safely if need be but heres hopeing things settle down and you can keep bub in for as long as possible

Loopie i've purchased a baby bjorn synergy carrier which has great back support and very popular and it has good resale also as they are so popular

Mellie braxton hicks are short and not painful contractions are rythmical and for me accompanied with period like pain aswell as pain that becomes more intense and last longer unless they become painfulland a pattern is emerging or your waters break don't worry to much,

As for me i've decided to try go natural of course being prepared for an emergency ceasar also it just has to be easier with our situation. Man i'm getting bigger and my back is killing not to complain of course.

Hope your all well chat soon

Katie still thinking of you hope your ok

Wow girls - you have been busy!!

Kelly- I'm guessing boy/girl combo, and hope all went smoothly!

Suga- soooo great- to hear mac will be on her way home to see her sis asap! as for what to do with them... I've been told to compare babies 0-4mos to houseplants!     as they just need fed, changed, and sleep- they don't react much and don't even smile for months!!! anyhow- just feeding /changing 2 will be enough to keep you busy and get weight off (and BTW- 6lbs is awesome!!) - don't worry, I am sure you look great!

weezie- the flash cards sound cool, and you sound very well organized for Gavin's arrival- and cookies and food wow- you are nesting for sure!!!
I'm thinking about sign language, too, but to be honest, i'm just sort of focusing on the moment- ummm, get the baby out safely :D and then figure out how to breastfeed( :? )

cinci- so nice to hear from you! keep safe, I am sorry that your health is not great, but at least you'll be able to meet your baby soon! and the GH will be gone!

Corny- AWESOME!!! Abigail doing great, you looked like you had a marvelous time at the ball game- i check on your blog often-i'll pop over in a bit to see the pix

rio- all i can say is WOW!!!!!!!! 41wks measurement :o :D they can try to turn him, or maybe he'll flip on his own- you're just about 37wks- will they not give it a bit more time before they cscet? then again- f they say 8lbs now, a few more weeks may mean a baby too big for vag birth- however- my friend gave birth to a 10lb 8oz baby vag and with no meds at all- last summer- so while it can be done, i'd probably not recommend it! our bean seems to have been head down for like the last 2 mos- hope he doesn't decide to flip at the last minute!

mellie- how nice to have a gathering of friends - I'm not sure that i've had any BH, just weird feelings here and there- and a lot of tugs

me- really starting to feel big, puffy feet, achy back- but all in all- pretty great! met with our "birth companion" on Tuesday. She is a nursing student from Johns Hopkins, and they are teaching some of their ob nurses to be Doulas, so she's free! Since Dh is a bit squeamish about blood and me in pain, it seemed like a nice idea for someone neutral to be their on our behalf. She will make sure we understand what the docs/nurses are saying, and help us convey our thoughts as well as massage, help me through contractions, and just make me more comfortable all around. It takes the pressure off dh, and eases my mind. So now, need to get that birth bag together, and figure out how to put the baby seat in the car. Crib is set up in the living space for now, cloth diapers washed and ready to go, baby's room still will have guest bed in it for foreseeable future as mom, mom-in-law, and friends will be coming to assist once baby is here, so that's it, right? -

oh- how are the names going for everyone?
we're still in limbo

that's it for now

much love to all the mommies and babies!!!!!!!!!!!!
October, here we come!!!!!!!!!

Loopie: Thanks, and yes they are like house plants! haha. But they poop a whole lot more than plants :D

Kelly: I am guessing girl/girl combo! (Cause that is the best haha) Hope delivery was smooth!!

Weezie: I think sign language is a great idea to help communicate with babies so that you do not go crazy trying to figure out what they want before they can speak.

Rio: Hopefully he moves or they can turn him so you can avoid the section. BUT if he is too big I say section him because that junk would hurt!!!

Mellie - Your party sounded fun. I hope you had a great time! I am having lots of period like cramping too, and back pain as well. I think it is normal and I am hoping that it means that my cervix is ripening. Braxton Hicks contractions are the painless tightening of you belly. They are uncomfortable though. They aren't supposed to become regular and will usually go away if yo walk around.

cinci - Great to hear from you! I am sorry about the hypertension. I have pre-existing hypertension that was controlled before becoming pregnant but in the last couple of weeks it has creeped up again. I asked my doctor if they would increase my meds since I have no protein in my unire and my blood work showed no sign of pre-eclampsia and she said no. She wants to just induce when the bp gets too high. Since I am over 37 weeks now, I guess that is ok. I really want a vag birth though and am afraid that if they induce when I am not really ready, I will end up with a c-section. I wish you all the best. I know everything will be fine. It is really good that they are keeping such a close eye on you. Let us know when the big day happens!

corny - I have been reading your blog and the pictures of Abigail are soooo cute! I am glad she got moved to the healthy baby room. You and your DH must be totally stoked! I am glad you finally got out for some one on one time with DH. That is so important - and what is better than a ball game in the sun. Next year you can bring Abigail with you!

rio - Wow!!!! That's a big baby. My doctor said bigger is better in the whole scheme of things so well done you! Sorry about the breech position. Did they suggest trying to turn him? Or is it too late with all your contractions. I think you will be next! You must be very excited!

Kelly - I hope all went well. I can't wait to hear your birth story and what genders they are. Please post when you can.

Jomae - I am glad you are doing well and that you are going to try for a vbac. I hope it all works out for you. How close are you?

sugabeanz - Hooray for Mackenzie coming home! What a blessing for you all to be together. I am sure you will do fine with them both home.

loopie - I am right there with you with the puffy feet, achy back and all. I am so ready for Declan to be born! I am glad you were able to get a doula. That's awesome that it is free too. My Dh is a firefighter/paramedic and will be able to keep a game face no matter what kind of birth I have so I will be really counting on him to get me through. Sounds like you are ready to go! I packed my hospital/birth bag this week just in case. I am all set too. NST stands for "non-stress test" where they hook you up to monitors for 20 minutes to monitor the baby's heartbeat and for contractions. Basically they want to see the baby's heartrate increase when he moves which shows that he is getting enough oxygen through the placenta and umbilical cord. It will show if the baby is in any distress at all. I have to say, they are very reassuring to have twice a week!

As for me, I have an NST today and then will see the doctor again next Tuesday. My home blood pressure readings have been at the high end of the parameters they set for me so I am a little worried. I am really hoping to get another week before they try inducing me. I really think he will be born in September though and not on my Oct. 8 due date.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

HI everyone I'm back. What a week its been!!! I just got power back a little while ago. (surprising since my zip code is not predicted to get it until next thursday). Luckily we got a cold front in last saturday night that has made the weather WONDERFUL. This time a year its usually upper 90's and humid and lowes mid 70's and humid. Its been 80 for the high and lows in the low 60's and not humid. IT was a blessing. The humidity is creeping back up and its about 90 so its good timing for the power to come back on. I went to the doc yesterday and he said that nothings going on. I said NOTHING not a little. I have tight belly and sharp pains constantly. But i guess its just part of it. I asked him if he could tell if he was head down still and when he checked me he said he was so thats good.

The storm was scary we got 80-100 mph winds for a few hours and it was scary. We stayed at my parents which is about 10 minutes away and we were boarded up and up all night. Lucklily their neighbor had a generator and hooked up their fridge so we have not lost food there. We took a lot of stuff there but threw out everyhting else at our house. Which is fine it was about time to clean the fridge before parker gets here. Then on saturday night when the front blew in it was SOOOO scary. terribly lightening and thunder and lots more weak trees went down. We ended up with about 15 inches of rain in two days but it didnt flood so that was good. We have taken lots of pictures so I will have to get some posted. I feel terrible for griping about the power when people lost everything. But being 9 months preg. its been a tough week. I will return to work on monday and work prob a week maybe 2 depending on how I feel and progress.

I am very excited for all you mommies that are close and for those that get to see there bundles this week.

Im glad that abbey and kenzie are doing well I know yall deal with alot not being able to be home with them---yall are doing a great job.

Ok we enough rambling I have SOOOO much to do around here My house was spotless before the storm and now we have suit cases, clothes everywhere. Dirt tracked in the house and lots of laundy to do. So I told my DH we have to get it done this weekend (Around the LSU game of course) and next weekend finish up.

Next weekend I have my brestfeeding class re-scheduled and I made plans to get a pedi and lunch iwth my sister in law and then that night another LSU game to watch So i def. have lots to do this weekend. I know after next weekned I wont want to do anything I already get tired after standing like 5 minutes. I wont tell yall how much I've gained its BAD but doc isnt concerned but I sure will get on the salad train again right when this guy is here. I t will be hard with the holidays but hopefully I can bounce back.

Ok enough rambles. Thank you all for your nice hello and concerns while I was gone. Im glad to be back!!!!!!!

Well, Mackenzie is home! She got home about an hour ago!! I am really happy that she has finally made it home. However, she is the hardest thing to feed. Since she still has her heart happenings and they happen after (or during) she eats, I had to learn a special way to feed her. Well, she did not feel like eating at her normal time and she was a stinker. I hope she gets easier eventually.

However, I did have a mental break down already! I did not get much sleep last night because of Brooke so I am already exhausted...so I was feeding Mackenzie and she would not eat so I started to cry because I am just overwhelmed...then I was feeding Brooke right afterwards and she was not that hungry so started to cry. UGH. Twins is the hardest thing. Next time, I think I will just pray for one little baby at a time!

Nick took off work next week so he will be able to help a little bit and his mom is coming up next weekend then my mom will be here the weekend after that so hopefully that will help me a little bit. I do not know how moms with multiples do it...I suppose I will learn really fast and I just have to keep in the back of my head that they do grow up and get easier with feeds.

Katie - So glad to hear you're ok. Hang in there! You're almost there.

Suga and Corny - Your photos are precious. Makes me so anxious to meet my little one.

Suga - Lots of women have been reduced to tears by one crying baby. I'm sure it's much tougher w/two. Glad to hear you have some reinforcements coming in to help. We plan on having my mom stay w/us the first 2 weeks (and that's w/only one baby!).

I posted a belly pic. All's well here. Just slowing down. I think being in your last month of pregnancy must be a glimpse of what it'll be like to be old: you move slowly, you have to eat dinner early b/c it just doesn't "settle well", getting in and out of a chair takes effort, you go to bed early and get up in the middle of the night to pee...I think I'm turning into an old lady!

Holy cow...tired as heck. Twins is really hard because they eat all the dang time...so once you change the diaper and feed em, it is time to start all over in 2 hours...sleep is not happening so it just makes it harder. Hopefully tonight will go a little bit better. My husband let me take a nap from 2-6 but I only slept for like 2 hours and now I am just more tired!

Katie Glad to see you and your family are ok please post any info you think is need to know from your feeding class i'm very interested to find all info i can and take notes with ds i took the class early and when the time came i didn't remember much

Mellie love your comparisson of pregnancy and old age you need to add the baby brain some of us women get when pregnant and especially after bub is here and we are lacking sleep and the dimensia that can happen when your older

Suga sorry to hear your feeling overwhelmed i know how hard it can be with just one so i'm sure your job is doubly hard are you feeding the girls together or are there scheduals different it may be of help to post a thread asking other been there and done it multiple mums for advice on routines and tips to make things quicker for you. i hope things settle for you soon just hang in there your doing a fab job

Hey Loopie never heard of a doula but sounds great for hubby to havesome support there if needing it and would certainly help you relax a little more too my mum and sisters think they are all coming in with me aswell as dh so no lack of support for me

Gecko your hubby has one of the sexiest jobs a bloke could have nothing like man in uniform he he he anyway i have just under 5 weeks to go maybe more went over with ds by 4 days but i some how suspect katie will come early this time as for the Vbac i am so nervous but i can't keep her in there for ever. I hope your blood pressure behaves and your able to keep bub in a bit longeratleast at this point bub is definatley ready if you had to deliver early

As for me nothing to report here i have another appointment with the doc tommorrow to book my Ceasar i don't have intentions of haveing one but my last doc said to book it anyway and if i change my mind i can cancell the booking there are only a few spare dates so i don't want to risk changing my mind later and not being able to book it in if i chnged my mind i've put on a total of 5 kilos to date and thankfully not retaining fluid that i can tell but my back is killing ive been spending time with my new nephew and its been good to have a little practise with a fresh bub mind you he makes me nervous as to how i'll cope although he seems to be the perfect bub we barely hear a peep out of him he's so contented. i've started to organize my hospital bag and have one load of baby washing left to do before i can say i am organized. i'm organizing a tin of formula incase i have major troubles trying to feed again not that i hope to use it heres hoping

Best go hope your all well and taking it easy get your rest now girls while you can

I got 30 minutes of sleep last night...no joke. Mackenzie was screaming ALL night. Come to find out she was not eating enough. The Dr. Browns bottles...she does not know how to suck out of that nipple very well. She is used to the hospital kind. So she would eat like 45 cc when she is used to eating like 90. So I figured this out at 3AM when I ran out of Dr. Browns bottles and used a disposable one from the hospital and she wolfed it down in no time. So now I have to go find bottles that she can use...ugh.

They are both getting their baby blessings today! The Bishop is coming to our hose to do it since they can not go out.

I am off to rest my eyes before he gets here then back to Wal Mart to get different bottles. Again.

Suga- can you just change out the nipple for more flow and keep the bottles? I can't even imagine only functioning on such little sleep. 30 mins, wow! Hang in there, you are doing a fabulous job with your girls! Love the pics, they are so adorable! I am so gald you have your two beautiful girls home!!! How was recovering from the c-section?
Jomae- thanks for the tip, I will ask my OB about having a VBAC for the next bub. I can't believe how little weight you have gained!
Mellie - you still have a cute- cute belly! Sometimes I feel so uncomfortable I can't believe that I am going for another IVF soon! One thing at a time I guess! Will you be doing FET or fresh?
KatieG- So gald to hear you are ok, what a nightmare! Good thing the baby is head down! If the doc is not concerned with your weight gain then you shouldn't either!!! Relax and enjoy :) it will come off after bub! It does get much harder to do things these days. Does your Ob still think you are due around the 12th?
Gecko - I guess the running for next one is between you and me now :D How did your BP do this weekend? Is it still a little high or has it settled? From what I remember you have a big bean in there also! If the baby is really big are you still considering a vaginal delivery?
Kelly - we are dying to hear the news!!!
Loopie - houseplants  that's funny! I think around two mos they start perking up a bit and smiling some. I can't wait! We got a great book on sign language and we really want to try it, it explains the development and advantages of signing and it is a fun read. I can get you the name if you want. For slings I definitely recommend baby bjorn. I can't believe your friend had such a big baby without meds, wow, she is my hero! Very cool on the free doula. We are still in name limbo also so don't feel bad!
Corny- cute pics of Abby! I am glad she is doing well, how have you been feeling?
Weezie - how are you doing?
Tammy - everything going well?

I had tons of braxton hicks this weekend, so much so that some came in 4 min intervals and others at 10 mins, 7 mins but nothing regular. Quite strong. Bean is positioned in a way where I have to really curve my back to walk and sit way back. His head is up between rib cages. The OB gave me the option of turning him this week but the risk of needing an emergency c-section after turning him cause of separation of placenta and other things scared me into leaving him alone. The OB isn't even sure I will make it to the 2nd for my C-sec at this point. I have another NST and U/s on Thursday. My NST on Friday was perfect which was really a relief since the one on Thursday had his HB fluctuating too much and down to 110 at some points. I got the nursery ready and DH and I have been working really hard on getting things set up. It is so much harder to do anything these days! I am ok with the c-sect beacuse of beans head measurements (41 wks on skull) last week, I don't want to try and do vaginal just to end up with an emergency C or them using the vaccum or other things. I am getting a little anxious and part of me can't believe that I am meeting our little guy next week after all we went through!!!!
Hope everyone has a great week!

LOL! Rio: YES! I bought nipples that had more flow. I did not even think about that until today!! I looked at the ones she had in the NICU and noticed there were two holes for milk to come out of! Who knew! lol. So I returned all the bottles I bought lol. The section was actually ok. I felt "okay" after about a week and after 2 weeks a lot better. Just was hard to walk at first.

Come on girls, we need more babies to get here!! :D
