Good evening ladies!

Awwwwwww too bad the thread is so quiet except for a few apt dates! How are you doing girls?

Valerie,
How was the weekend? I really hope you could have some quiet and some fun time with your DH and keep your mind off IVF for a bit. I still don't know when your ultrasound will be, but I guess Thursday?

Amanda,
Where are you girl? How are the twins? How are you coping with having twins now that the shock is behind you!

Anie,
same there: where are you and how are you doing hunny? Miss you! :D

Brooke,
How did it go this weekend with your grandma? How did the basket idea work out? Can't wait to find out!

OOps, gotta run! See you later!!

Hi -
I'm around.
I hope everyone is doing well. Each week passes and I cannot believe we've made it along. I'm at 10wks 2 days ( I don't know how/where you guys have those tickers_ can someone send me a private message and let me know?) I don't have that message board saavy.

I'm sitting around eating and trying to get things done. I'll be out of town, back in DC thursday- sunday for work. I bought a suitcase with FOUR wheels so I don't have to bear the weight of it at all. while traveling. Going to take it super easy this time.

I'm having trouble concealing my condition. I'm already looking pretty darn pregnant. I have been wearing scarves that hang down and (hopefully) hide my double load! LOL. I don't want to talk about my condition until after we get through the first trimester.

Good evening ladies,

Sorry I've been MIA for the past 3 days. The weekend was ok, nothing exciting and Sunday I was so tired I couldn't get my butt off the couch. I think I took 3 naps and still didn't feel energetic.
My next US is on Oct.13th. I really hope to see much improvement and a much bigger baby with a strong fast heartbeat.
I still feel pregnant and I eat everything in sight. I eat dinner and 45 min later I'm starving. That's after eating all afternoon. I think it can only be a good sign. I do feel more pulling down in my uterus than I did before, several times a day.

Stefanie~ I'm glad you're going to take it easy on your trip. I'm sure that you're showing quite a bit already as you are carrying twins. I think the scarves will do the trick. The good thing is that men don't notice such things too much. Women would be more observant. Soon you will be able to announce your fabulous news.

Sophie~ How have you been doing? Have you had more patients lately? I certainly hope so.
You're talking about a late implanter and I thought about that too but it doesn't make sense because I had such a good beta on 10dp5dt. A late implanter would have given me a much lower one. So, I don't really know what is going on. I can't wait to hear great news...I want to beat the odds and have a healthy baby.

Brooke~ How did your baby announcement go? I bet it was a lot of fun and that your grandma was so happy for you.
How are you feeling?

Kerpupples~ We're having our US the same day and I hope we both get fantastic news. Hope you're feeling well and that the PIO are not killing your butt. You're brave, I was allergic to them and they were absolute torture. I had welts the size of golf balls for two weeks after I stopped. When are they going to stop them. I'm so happy with the suppositories.

Stacy~ How is my burping girlfriend? We haven't heard from you and I hope all is well. Let us know.

Amanda~ How are the twins behaving?

Well, that's it for me....enjoying each day that I feel pregnant and believing that it will all be ok. I'm keeping my strong PMA and it has helped me so much.
I do find myself being more of a hermit. I don't really want to see my girlfriend who knows I'm pregnant. I feel pressure from that. I feel that being more by myself helps me a lot. But that is how I deal with difficult situations. I guess all my energy is concentrated on what is happening. My girlfriend understands and when things look better, I will start rejoicing even more.

Have a great night and much love to all.

Hello! I've been doing well! Figured out how to eat and sleep so I've been feeling much better. I've found that napping (if possible) for an hour or so makes a huge difference in my energy as well as eating every couple of hours. The nausea is way better now - if I feel a little sick I have a preggie pop drop while I figure out what to eat. Also every time I take the subway I feel sick so have one there as well. It's working well! Also eating before getting out of bed.

It's getting harder to keep the news a secret. I went out on Saturday with some friends and one of my good guy friends figured out the news on his own. I was going to tell him soon anyway, but it just shows that people that know me know I'm ALWAYS up for a cocktail and going out with friends! So it's hard to suddenly not be up for plans because of being tired. I will be glad when 12 weeks is here, as I'm sure all of us will be! Also was part of a conversation with two pregnant ladies about food aversions and I wanted to much to share in the conversation! Soon enough!

Friday is my last US at the fertility center and that afternoon my first OB appointment. My husband will fly home on Thursday so he will be home in time to join me on Friday. He hasn't seen an US yet so it will be fun.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well! Keep the PMA!

Good morning beautiful ladies!

Ah, finally, some action! :D Yay!

Stefanie,
Time goes by so fast, doesn't it? Our babies will lose their tails this week! And they have toes and fingers and all their facial bones are already in place! Wow! For the tickers, it's really easy. You have three options in terms of websites. Here they are:

http://tickers.baby-gaga.com/pregnancy.php

http://lilypie.com/create_baby_days.php

http://www.tickerfactory.com/ezticker/t ... ker_type=1

Just follow the instructions until your personalized ticker is produced. Some website give you many codes depending on how you plan to use your ticker (in MySpace, on a chat forum, etc). Select the bb code. Then copy that code and paste it in the "signature" window in your profile on this forum (at the top of this page, last link on the right). Make sure you erase all the coding that is written before [img]and[/img]. Click on "update profile" at the bottom of the page, and you're done! The ticker will update itself automatically each day. Feel free to pm me if you have questions.

I understand you about not feeling like advertising your pregnancy yet. But don't worry. Even if people notice, they usually shut up about it. It was the case for me. The nurses started noticing last week (thanks bloating!) but they only congratulated me this week, after they were told I had already announced my pregnancy to other people. In less than two weeks, you'll finally pass that 12 weeks mark! yay!

Valerie,
Hi girl, how nice to hear from you!!! I can't believe those delays they keep imposing on you... such a long wait before you can see your little beanie! I agree with stefanie, you're very brave and you're certainly an inspiration! I'm happy to see that you follow your instinct and respect your feelings. Sometimes I didn't really feel like hearing about my best friend,s pregnancy just because she had good news and was ahead of me and could enjoy the 12-week reassurance faster than I, she heard the heartbeat, and so on. It passes. If you need space and quiet, so be it my friend! :D As long as you come and say hi from time to time, it's okay with me! I don't really have more patients, but I'm working on it.

Stacy,
Hi there! Nice to hear from you! :D I,m so glad to hear that you've found your way around the symptoms. Naps really helped me too! Aha, so you're quite the party girl!!! did your other friends notice? Aw, I completely understand how hard it is to interact with people and refrain from telling the news! Just a few more weeks!!

As for me, things are quite good. Tomorrow I'll have my first ob-gyn apt. I really cross my fingers and toes to be lucky and hear the heartbeat. I'm so used to being checked many times a week with the IVF treatments... feels like ages since last time I had an ultrasound. Part of me is very aware of the fact I'm pregnant, and I rejoice about the future. Part of me is also very cautious... knowing that, medically spealing, I'm not quite out of the woods yet because we haven't checked the baby in a while and I haven't passed the 12-week mark. It's only 12 days away... but let me tell you, each time I walk by the radiology department, I feel like kidnaping a radiologist and have him/her do an ultrasound just to check if the baby is okay! lol! If we can't find the heartbeat, I'll ask for an ultrasound. Apparently, that doctor is sensitive to women's anxiety, and she might allow me to have one in order to reassure me. I'll be 10 weeks 3 days, and I should be able to hear it.

I'm also a bit nervous about the apt. I know that all doctors here in Quebec are in a total rush when they see you. I have a complicated medical history with the cause of my infertility and my three surgeries, and she'll have to be patient and learn that story. I printed it and I plan to bring it to my apt. My friend, who is a doctor and knows ob-gyns well (she thinks they all have a personality disorder, LOL), advised me to just give the sheet to the doctor and ask her if she wants to read it by herself or let me explain it. That way, she said, she won't have the impression she's losing control over the apt and she'll cooperate more. Sheesh.... but she's right of course, so I'll do that. I just know how long it is to write all that down in a report, so I wanted to help her and my friend said it was a good idea.

Okay, gotta go... I have a patient to see and many photocopies to do for my research projects. Take care ladies, and I'll tell you all about the apt tomorrow!!!!

Love,

Sophie xxox

Hello!
Sorry i've been MIA....

Just read all the post and i can see load happening.

I've been very busy at work hence not been able to be online and post.

We have just booked a mini holidays. After this ivf ride i think it's time to a break. Me and dh are going to Venice on Saturday for 3days.
Oh im looking so forward to it! My last holidays was in April and that feels like was ages ago!

I have noticed some changes in me: the first and biggest one is the trousers don't fit me! I have bought 2 pairs of jeans and im surviving on them. I definetly need to go shopping.
Other thing is feeling hungrier often. Before it was breackfast, lunch and dinner. Now i need to eat something in between.

I also feel more tired. Need to go to bed early.

I don't have any kind of craving as yet. Maybe is to early for that...

Need to finish some stuff now.

Luv to all

Sophie~ Thanks for the list and for putting an encouraging message for me and my little bean.
But, I changed my US to Tuesday the 14th because I have a big party I have to get ready for one of my clients. Lots of orchid arrangements to do and be ready for that night. My appointment was at 11:00am and would have cut my day in half. Sooooo, what is one more day at this point? It will give the baby more time to catch up.

It's a quick post because I'm getting ready for our club's orchid show this weekend and have to have dinner....not like I've not eaten a ton today, but stomach is still calling.

Love to all and will write more a little later.

Hi guys,

Val,
No problemo, I'll change your date. Hope you had a nice party tonight! :D

At the end of the day, I chatted with one of my colleagues, a nurse, who asked about the baby. I told her about my apt tomorrow and that I was concerned about hearing the heartbeat. Turns out she worked 10 years in the maternity ward at this hospital, and she knew the nurses. So we sneaked there and asked for a Doppler. Can't believe how moody the nurses were even if they knew her, but they let us use a Doppler and a room. She searched carefully for about 5 minutes, but she didn't find the heartbeat. She almost heard it one time, but the noise didn't last long enough. She did hear the echoes from the placenta and ombilical chord (woosh-woosh-woosh!); the sound is my blood passing from the placenta to the baby. This is a good sign, because if the baby had passed away, the placenta would stop working of course. I try to focus on the positive side; I have a working placenta! :D 10w2d is still really early to find a heartbeat, because the baby is still very small, it moves around a lot and quickly, and it still lies underneath the pubic bone. My colleague told me she could do the test again next week and that, at 11 weeks, we would have much higher chances to find the heartbeat because the baby would be taller and higher than my pubic bone. Don't know if I'll ask her again, because of the moody nurses... it really gave us the impression that we were intruding. How rude. They were all there, docs and nurses, seemingly bored because there weren't many women in labor that day. Anyway.

Of course, this changes what I'll tell the doctor tomorrow. I'll ask for an ultrasound. I think she'll understand. My friend told me that the Dopplers you find on sophisticated ultrasound machines can find a heartbeat at 10 weeks, no problem. We had a portable Doppler (the kind you can rent), so it's far less effective. I hope the doctor will cooperate tomorrow, I think my request is fair, given that my prenatal tests will only be in three long weeks.

That's it for me today folks! Take care, and good night! :D

I just wanted to crash your thread and give some words of encouragement to Valerie.

My baby also measured small for quite some time and when I went for my around 6 wk appt, they still could not find a heartbeat. It wasn't until close to 8 wks that my baby's hb was visible. So hold onto that hope and keep up the pma, my baby was born perfectly healthy on 8-26.

I also see that Brooke is from CT and new to the area. Welcome, hopefully you like it so far. I have lived here my whole life and it is not so bad. I also think I lucked out in finding an excellent dr for the ivf I went through.

Sorry to crash, congrats to all here!

Michele~ Thank you so much for your post...it truly warmed my heart and your thoughtfulness touched me. I'm so glad that your pregnancy had a happy ending and I want to congratulate you on having a healthy baby.
I have as much PMA as one can have at this point and somehow I believe that it will all work out. Tuesday will tell us a lot more. I will be 9w2d at that point and I hope that baby will have caught up.

Sophie~ How did your OB appointment go today? Did you get to hear the heartbeat? I'm sure everything is fine with your baby....those dopplers are known for not picking up the hb. I hope you had plenty of time to talk to the OB. I bet that is not an easy situation to deal with. And I would think that OBs would be especially caring.
Let us know how it went.

Anie~ Have a fabulous time in Venice!!! You deserve such a nice little break. Sounds like you're doing great!

Stefanie~ Thanks for the kind word. I hope you're doing well on your business trip and that your scarves are doing the job. Don't overdo anything and rest as much as possible. I'm sure you can't wait to get back home.

I'm resting right now as I had a pretty long day. We set up the orchid exhibit for our show today and even if I did not do as much as I usually do, it still got me tired. I brought plenty of snacks and ate all afternoon.
How is it that I've only gained the 2 lbs that I had lost. Nothing sticks.

Hope everyone else is doing great.
Much love,

Hi, Im TooBee
Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I see some of my old freinds here that I have been missing from another thread. I hope you all dont mind if If I join you all again as well as make new freinds!

I am 9 weeks today and just had an u/s. I started with triplets where we saw three heartbeats at 7 weeks, today at 9 weeks we only saw two very healthy heartbeats, and I am elated still. They are both measuring right on track at 9w1d and 9w with one heartbeat at 169 and he other at 174....

My blood pressure was high last time, but I think thats because they took it after I found out I had triplets...today it was almost normal

I hope you dont mind me barging in.........I find these threads so supportive and beneficial.

Hugs to all

Hello ladies!!

Okay, just a real quick note, because I have to rush my morning and escape to my house in order to work on a presentation. Sheesh, my computer at work only has Office 1997, can you believe it? So I need to use my own Power Point at home.

The apt went super well yesterday! I was a bit nervous, but the doctor has such a nice attitude! It's a really nice match, wow! She didn't panic when I said I'm vegetarian and can't eat dairy products, she just said she took care of many hindu women who have the same habits and they are just fine. she prescibed a kind of prenatal vitamin that might be easier on my IBS, but she said if it doesn't work, no biggie. She said I would just have to eat well and I'd be just fine. Can you believe that doc? Not a control freak. Geez, she didn't even discuss my weight! She just saw I was healthy and had a healthy weight, and she didn't focus on whether I had gained 2, 3 or 4 pounds during my first trimester.

She also took the time to listen to my medical story and her reactions made me fall in love with her. LOL when she asked why I had that fatal exam, I told her in truth that my father and his wife had scared/pressured me into having an IUD installed because they were dissatisfied with my contraception method (condoms). She startled on her chair and blurted out, "But it's NONE of their business!!!!!" She was scandalized to hear that, despite what I had asked some of my doctors, they still discussed my surgeries with them because they were always around asking questions. Turns out she did part of her studies in the same hospital my father and his wife work in, so she remembers who they are. Let me tell you, if they come to the hospital after the birth and try to coaxe some info out of that doctor using their "let's have a doc-to-doc talk", they'll hit their Waterloo!!

WE FOUND THE HEARTBEAT! :D Which was a complete relief. It beats at 170, which is prefect she said. She also added exactly what I needed to hear. When you hear the heartbeat through the abdomen, your risks of miscarriage are practically null!!! How nice is that??? So yesterday, I just pushed all the miscarriage fears right behind me and I abandoned myself to this pregnancy completely. I'm really going to be a mommy! :D

The doc also examined me and found out that it's real easy to make my cervix bleed. She said it's what caused the bleeding earlier in my pregnancy, so we were right about that, no worries! She advised us to still refrain on intercourse and masturbation until I have my prenatal tests done. She said we could resume all that now if we wanted, but given that my cervix will bleed, it will cause me anxiety for no reason.

IMPORTANT INFO The doctor warned me that, when you stop progesterone injections or pessaries, SLIGHT BLEEDING IS EXPECTED AND COMMON. She said not to worry, and that it would pass within a few days. Wow, it's good to know, because I really had no idea!!! She also advised me to wean myself from the Diclectin (anti-ms meds) gradually, because if I stop cold turkey at 12 weeks I might have rebound nausea. Ew! ;)

Wow, only 9 small days and I'll be PIO and estrogen free! And weaning on the Diclectin! Oh, to be meds free... :D

Val,
As always, your posts warm my heart! Nothing sticks sweetie because your little baby is eating like a PIG and growing!!! :D:D If that isn't a sign, I don't know what sign there could be! :D Yay! Can't wait until next Tuesday... I'll be on pins and needles!!

TooBee!
Welcome! :D:D So happy to have you here!! it's always nice to have new pregnancy buddies! I'm sorry about your lost triplet, but delighted to hear that your PMA is rock-hard! :D Congrats on your two beautiful treasures! If you want, tell me your due date and your next apt dates and I'll happily add you to the list! If you want to tell us your first name, I could add that to the list as well. Welcome again!

Okay guys, gotta run see a patient. Take care and have fun!
