Hello ladies!!
Okay, just a real quick note, because I have to rush my morning and escape to my house in order to work on a presentation. Sheesh, my computer at work only has Office 1997, can you believe it? So I need to use my own Power Point at home.
The apt went super well yesterday! I was a bit nervous, but the doctor has such a nice attitude! It's a really nice match, wow! She didn't panic when I said I'm vegetarian and can't eat dairy products, she just said she took care of many hindu women who have the same habits and they are just fine. she prescibed a kind of prenatal vitamin that might be easier on my IBS, but she said if it doesn't work, no biggie. She said I would just have to eat well and I'd be just fine. Can you believe that doc? Not a control freak. Geez, she didn't even discuss my weight! She just saw I was healthy and had a healthy weight, and she didn't focus on whether I had gained 2, 3 or 4 pounds during my first trimester.
She also took the time to listen to my medical story and her reactions made me fall in love with her. LOL when she asked why I had that fatal exam, I told her in truth that my father and his wife had scared/pressured me into having an IUD installed because they were dissatisfied with my contraception method (condoms). She startled on her chair and blurted out, "But it's NONE of their business!!!!!" She was scandalized to hear that, despite what I had asked some of my doctors, they still discussed my surgeries with them because they were always around asking questions. Turns out she did part of her studies in the same hospital my father and his wife work in, so she remembers who they are. Let me tell you, if they come to the hospital after the birth and try to coaxe some info out of that doctor using their "let's have a doc-to-doc talk", they'll hit their Waterloo!!
WE FOUND THE HEARTBEAT!

Which was a complete relief. It beats at 170, which is prefect she said. She also added exactly what I needed to hear. When you hear the heartbeat through the abdomen, your risks of miscarriage are practically null!!! How nice is that??? So yesterday, I just pushed all the miscarriage fears right behind me and I abandoned myself to this pregnancy completely. I'm really going to be a mommy!
The doc also examined me and found out that it's real easy to make my cervix bleed. She said it's what caused the bleeding earlier in my pregnancy, so we were right about that, no worries! She advised us to still refrain on intercourse and masturbation until I have my prenatal tests done. She said we could resume all that now if we wanted, but given that my cervix will bleed, it will cause me anxiety for no reason.
IMPORTANT INFO The doctor warned me that, when you stop progesterone injections or pessaries, SLIGHT BLEEDING IS EXPECTED AND COMMON. She said not to worry, and that it would pass within a few days. Wow, it's good to know, because I really had no idea!!! She also advised me to wean myself from the Diclectin (anti-ms meds) gradually, because if I stop cold turkey at 12 weeks I might have rebound nausea. Ew!
Wow, only 9 small days and I'll be PIO and estrogen free! And weaning on the Diclectin! Oh, to be meds free...
