Hello sunshines!
Wow, lots of energetic ladies this morning! Exactly what I need! The weather is really gloomy here today!
Carolyn,
Thinking of you sweetie, and I'm a bit jealous that you're in Spain, although I know you're not there as a tourist... wish you could buy flamenco shoes for me... but enough selfish talk, I hope the clinic treats you well and I can't wait to hear what you have to say about it when you come back!
Miracle!
LOL thanks for your comments about my furbabies, but THEY'RE MINE! Although these days, I'd happily trade my girl... geez I don't know what's her problem lately, but she started munching on stuff again... it's mostly her. She teared a dish cloth apart two nights ago, and she started munching on the corridor's carpet... not to mention her blankie... and my oven mits... the problem is that she literally EATS the fabric! On the other hand, the dogs started to sleep together... oh my, I should carry my digital camera with me at all times; yesterday, my boy slept with an arm around her! And this morning, they were cuddling back to back!
Oh, and don't worry about not going to the party. If your friend is indeed a friend, she'll understand. You can't force yourself, and you can't make yourself go through a really bad time just because you want to be polite. You're not Bree van de Kamp!

I'm really happy to hear that you had a great time with your sis. Did you stuff your faces with the cookies you baked last weekend?
Stephanie!
Hello there!!! It's so great to have news my dear! How are you doing? Do you have anything planned for the Holidays? Oh, I have mixed feelings about being halfway... part of me likes being pregnant and doesn't want it to end, and part of me is SUPER excited to hold that baby in my arms... I think it's the norm, lol!
Angie!
Nice to hear from you girlie!

I hear you on the workload... whew, it's a rush before the Holidays! SO happy I gave myself a treat with time off from the 24th to the 5th!

And DH's company closes during that period so we'll be together! Yahoo! Your comments about boys being easier craked me up! I'm not too sure about that sweetie! Boys tend to be more hyperactive than girls! Hey come on, I'm a shrink, I can handle drama queens and big bundles of emotions, but hyperactivity? Mmmmmh that remains to be seen!

No, seriously, I don't mind. My brother was the sweetest little boy, he's still extra sweet even as a teenager now. My sisters are super nice too. I think it has a lot to do with parenting styles, the atmosphere at home, the life events people have to go through, and such. I'll give that little the boy the best I can do and we'll see what happens!

Give my best to Murphy who'll be really pretty for Xmas!
As for me, the weekend was gone in a heartbeat as usual. I had a great time though. Did the usual chores on Saturday. Then on Sunday morning, DH left early to walk the dogs in the woods. In the meantime, I get up and get ready, and then I cook a nice brunch. Lately, I've been doing that super nice pancake recipe:
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp sugar
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
3 tbsp melted butter
1 1/4 milk
1 egg
Whisk the dry ingredients together first, then add the wet and mix well. Spoon on a hot pan (I use the 1/4 cup cup). Just be careful you cook them at a medium-low temperature because they'll cook real fast.
So when my husband came back from his walk, all cold and with tired furbabies, we ate pancakes together. We had a great time! Then I called my best friend, who is going through a rough time. She has to take it easy right now because her cervix is very soft, shortened and partially open on the outside. She had a reliable tests that says she won't go into labor for the next 3 weeks, but those physical signs, plus the painless contractions she's been having, are a warning nevertheless. I'm really proud of her because she's staying quite calm and she's not panicking, but I feel for her and I hope the situation will be really stable from now on. The baby is viable, but it would be severly premature... I'm happy, though, that her condition forced her to take 2 weeks off and rest at home. She really needed that.
Other than that, I finished the Xmas decorations! And I sewed some curtains. I worked until 11pm (gah!) and the lower hem still has to be done, but I was able to hang them and see how they look like yesterday evening. It's really lovely, and it blends really well with the colors of the room! I'm quite happy with my choice of fabric! Too bad the fabric was expensive... because I would like to sew the same curtains for the closet. We removed all the old doors during the renovations, but we still don't have the budget to replace the 4 closet doors (we have to buy them in real, non jointed pine, then stain and varnish them). Thankfully, I have cream-colored Ikea curtains that will look just fine. In fact, I just realized that I might have fun sewing or gluing felt appliques (ladybugs, mushrooms, forest animals) on it! I'll probably do that with my sisters next time they visit!
...and I baked lots of goodies... a vegan chocolate cake TO DIE FOR (oh my GOD), a traditional Quebec "meat" pie (vegetarian) called "tourtiere" and some sugar-hazelnut rolls with the pastry leftovers... oh, the nice smells in my kitchen! Oh, the pile of dishes I had to wash!

Ah, well, it was worth it! Now the key is to make it last all week!
Okay ladies, take care and I'll see you around!
