Hi all,
I am turning 50 today. The babies are ok, all of them and DH made me my favorite pancakes this morning. What else can I ask from Life?
BabyHope1, hope things are developing towards a normal pregnancy (whatever IVFers can call normal!). Get ready to learn that in reproduction science (as in Science in general) there is a great degree of variation so we should not get so impressed by numbers. Being a bit bloated is normal; things will start showing up a bit later I think. As about reduction...read a lot (including this site - use reduction as a key word for search) and be very careful. I've seen so many problems with interferences as drastic as reduction that is hard to believe - as some doctors say - that is is a simple procedure. More even because it can only be performed after you are already attached to the little shape of life developing within you. I didn't reduce and the three babies are doing fine, against many many odds. But each parent is different and you will have time for choices if they come over. For now...Enjoy your BFP! and rest.
Babyloves, thanks for the advice on walking. It does prevent clots, which may happen when we stay still for so long. I am taking small walks (1/2 a mile) and the benign contractions come in. But nothing serious, so I will keep them in my routine. My peri told me that when babies have their limbs "inwards" into the uterus and the placenta is between them and our skin we feel much less. That may explain what SilverAngel is noticing...one "moving" more than the other. We may not notice their movements. But, yes, there are individual differences already and some babies are a lot more on the go than others (we must accept that when they can't sit still for 15 seconds later on!)
Kas101, congratulation on your triplets! I am a bit ahead of you...good luck on yor journey through the terrible ups and downs of the firts trimester!
Corosmomma, Kb2131...welcome and congratulations. I find it very difficult to predict what is going to happen 10 weeks from now. I've been long enough in this thread to see hopes crashing and fears dissipating agains predictions. I would not risk a hard-earned pregnancy for any social event or even contracted job. If we can delegate well and trust our supervisees...maybe. But the first trimester is full of surprises. You may want to check abortion rates in flight attendants. The figures indicate some increased risk due to pressure changes, microvibrations, etc. I flew from Brazil right after the IVF procedure - but is was before they started their adventure trying to attach to my uterus
JenniferPD, THANK YOU for writing to us!!!! I am thinkinga about you, Michael, Sophia! Nice to see the brave 0,5 centimeters holding up OK. How many weeks are you now? Good luck and hang in there!
Dear SilverAngel, congrats! 26 weeks! They are viable now - just playing for time and pounds. Eat well and rest. How much are they weighting now?
Wishing everyone a Happy Weekend, Literatriz
