Hey, Ange, nice to hear all was well and you got to see more this time on the scan!
I think our scans are over for a while - they may wish to take a look at the placenta in another month or so, but otherwise, all is well here, too!
Carolyn, the aches and sharp pains, etc. that I had for a few weeks (about 3 or so) have actually subsided. Not sure what I did. I did get some massage evenings before bed, because the worst time by far was during the night. However, now even without massages, I am okay during the night - only little twinges which are very manageable and I get more sleep than ever!!
All I can tell you is that when I looked it up, my pain which felt like sciatica, was not sciatica (apparently, sciatica is not really related to pregnancy, contrary to popular belief - only if you already had it or were developing it would it become more apparent) - what I had/have is pelvic girdle pain. In the hips, sacrum, buttocks, down the legs at times, and it was so painful that I really could not sleep. Is this what you have?
I am sure it is more common with multiples.
I think that lowering my major activity level (bending over lots, lifting, over exertion - ie, the yard work I did in the fall!) helped, and then keeping my body physically moving and not staying in one position for too long (especially sitting) helped it reduce.
I did use pillows in bed when it was at its worst, and now I still use one pillow between my legs, hips and feet whenever I sleep on my side.
I hope you find some relief, since I know it is quite painful!!
AFM - the little Sweet Pea is just rarin' along, kicking, flipping, punching, headbutting, floating around and just generally putting on a great show. It is so entertaining, and I love it! I am slowly able to identify a head vs and foot or the spine, but only once in a while. Other times I am at a loss as to what is sticking out, or what exactly is stuck under my ribcage. I have been tickled again twice more, which is wonderful - it actually makes me laugh.
PS - I have decided against having the GD screen test done, after copious amounts of research of articles and studies (thank you also for your input, Carolyn). I know my Dr will not be happy, but I am.
Take care, pregnant mums!
