What type of medication protocol are you on? I was on Cetrotide/Follistim, and then Menupor. Just wondering what are the typical treatment that is being offered. Thanks.

Anderjam- welcome! so sorry about your bfn. it's great to see that you're being positive & going forward by trying again. it WILL work for ALL of us this time around :-) are you doing a fresh cycle or did you get to freeze any embbies in your previous cycle? i know what you mean about being overwhelmed. now i know what to expect, so hopefully that will relieve some anxiety.

rlk1- if you & dh are thinking about taking it easy & taking some time off until after january than you should. the fact that you're thinking about that is an indication that you just need a little more time. the less stress & the more pma, the higher the chances of a successful outcome. take ALL the time you need. we'll be here for you whenever you decide you're ready. i think your decision to transfer one (two if the thaw process isn't as great) is a good one...these decisions are so difficult to make, so whatever decision anyone makes, he/she will ALWAYS question it.

Arabsrcool- sounds like you're moving right along! that's great! keep us posted!

BlessedMama- glad your hysterscopy went well & there aren't any issues :-)

cheekyone- thanks so much for checking in & for the positive words & support!

rayofsunshine- when's your dd's b-day? i completely know what you mean about keeping quiet about this upcoming cycle. a few people know, but i will definitely be a little more quiet about it this time around. I'M VERY THANKFUL TO HAVE ALL OF YOU AS WELL!!!

anderjam - Welcome!!! I'm so sorry about your BFN. I know how devastating it can be. In my experience, the second time around is more relaxing, b/c you definitely know what to expect. Do you have any frosties left from your first cycle?

nope, no frosties left...the only ones that made it to implantation were the 2 they put in. so we're starting all over again. :(
Has anyone done ICSI the first time and then recommended that you not do it the next time? This is what they said to do, something about the cells (or something being stripped off when they did ICSI) and it may need that for implantation.

Hi girles!!! Just got back from having infectious labs done. It was 10  , vials. I guess I had forgetton how many they take. I thought I was going to pass out. Lucky for me the lab tech was good, got a vein on the first poke and my veins didn't collapse. Hurray, that is done. Now my dh has to have his done. Hopefully insurance will not give me any issues about paying, since the labs aren't necessarily for just infertility (I don't have any coverage left under this policy, but was afraid to wait until after January 1st. I could just see the labs not coming back and not being able to move forward until they did)

anderjam,

welcome. Sorry to hear about your BFN. Never heard doing ICSI on 1st, then not on second. Usually only do ICSI is there is concern that eggs will not get fertilized.

rlk1,

I know its a relief to decide how many frosties to transfer. I am being positive too that my embies are going to make thaw and look good. So will keep out fingers crossed. Looks like my transfer date will get moved back from yours, since I have to be on bcp's an additional week.

Advice? Hmmm...
Take 1 day at a time or it can feel overwhelming. Take good care of yourself. Eating well and drinking enough water are very important. Do the massages, I even hired a cleaning lady so I don't have to worry about house stuff.
Specifically, for the shots (especially the PIO) I would ice the area for several minutes and warm pack afterwards having my hubby rub the spot afterwards, helps to keep the knots down.

Hi Ladies! I was on the Nov/Dec board, but I am actually going to be more like Dec/Jan. RE had me on BCPs for 17 days and I start tomorrow for another 17 days. Lupron start is 12/21 and my baseline is 12/29. ER should be 01/13 and ET 01/18. Last week I had my Hysteroscopy...did that hurt anyone else? Boy, that was not fun! DH and I are just ready to get this show on the road! Since we have no insurance coverage, I found some wonderful women from this site who donated their leftover meds and without their generosity, I don't know if we would have been able to move forward. Anyhow, I'm excited to share this experience with all of you! BFP...here we come!
Me - 32 - no issues
DH - 36 - low count

Hi ladies - I was originally on the Nov/Dec board when I thought that I was going to be doing a fresh transfer. But I have since found out that I will actually be doing an FET in January so I thought it would be good to join you guys.

Just a little bit of background - I started my first IVF cycle in late October. I have a 3 year old DS and when my DH and I started trying to have a second a little over a year ago we had 3 miscarriages and found out that I have a chromosomal translocation. Long story short we heard about PGD from our genetic counselor and jumped on the wagon. I did a full IVF protocol with ER on Thanksgiving where they got 24 eggs of which 18 fertilized. But because they wanted to do day 5 cell biopsies for PGD, they had to freeze all of our embryos (9 made it to day 5) which is why I am now doing an FET.

Yesterday we got our PGD results back and of the 9 embryos 3 are "good". AF came to visit Sunday (earlier than expected) so I start BCPs today and pending an u/s next week I will start Lupron on 12/21. If everything goes smoothly they are estimating ET the w/o January 18th.

I haven't had a chance to read up on everyone but will hopefully have a chance later this week. Looking forward to joining this group!

rlk1 - the list looks great! I think katie99 has been doing the list for Dec...maybe she could give you some pointers. I am so grateful that you took that responsibility on! Also, it looks like you & I are running very close in our cycles. That will be helpful for me since I'm a first-timer!

Ok, I'll do some personals tomorrow...guess I actually need to do some work today!

Hi everyone, I was very glad to see this thread up and running!
We are doing a FET in January (hopefully) We had a FET planned for November 11th and I got H1N1 so we got put on hold and they told us to call back in December. . . so I did and then they decided to tell me the lab was closed :( So that wasn't meant to be but we are hoping January will be!! Good luck to all and I am excited to be part of this journey with you all!!
Me- Kasey 25: unexplained issues
DH- 30: low low low count, low motility
TTC for 3 years.

1st cycle: July 2009: BFP, miscarried @ nearly 8 weeks :(
