Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!!
Cressy: I started feeling contractions on Friday the 12th at about 4:30 in the afternoon. I felt about 3 so I started timing them...only 4 minutes apart and they lasted about 30-40 seconds. So I called Alex at the office and he came right home...I finished packing a few more things and we left for the hospital. It was only a 10 minute car ride but the contractions got closer together. They admitted me and checked me and I was fully ephaced (sp?) and 1 cm dilated. They said they could stop the contractions and put me on magnesium. It seemed to slow the contractions for about an hour and then I started feeling stronger contractions and I felt like I was feeling pressure....but the stupid doctors didn't want to check me for fear that the checking would dilate me more. So then when they finally checked me (I kept saying I feel like I need to push! -remember, I haven't had ANY pain meds or epidural...so they checked and I was 10 cm after only 3 hours and they said "Well, it looks like we're having a baby tonight!" The doc was paged and was there 10 minutes later. I pushed about 7 times and she came out! Admitted to the hospital at around 6pm and she was out by 10pm-talk about a fast labor! The contractions hurt more to me than actual pushing. At least when you're pushing, you feel like you're accomplishing something, like it's one more step in meeting your baby. So she came out and was breathing on her own but they had a team of neonatalogists in the room (so there was like 7 people in the room...a bit overwhelming). They observed her for an hour and in that hour she had an episode of apnea, which they said is fairly normal with preemies. So they decided to transfer her to a different hospital because the one I delivered at did not have a NICU. I was released from the hospital the next morning!!! I felt great and was in NO pain whatsoever, even after getting a small episiotomy. Who knew natural labor would be such an easy recovery. It was the last thing I expected...I went into the hospital asking for an epidural. God had other plans

Savannah is doing great...we visit her everyday for 5-6 hours, breastfeed her, sing to her, hold her, and just bond with her. The nurses told me today that they predict she will be home in about 2 weeks.
How are you all doing? Ask me ANY questions if you want to know anything else about labor. XOXO
