Hi June Cyclers
I am starting my first cycle this month and am looking forward to some other cycle buddies.
I start my injections tomorrow and am more nervous of getting the medication and dosages right than the actual injection itself. My doctor has me on the flare protocol and I am praying that the steps I took will improve my egg quality. (Wheat grass shots, gave up alcohol and cofee and yoga)

I wanted to know if anyone has any tips on keeping stress levels down during the IVF process? My husband and I have already booked getaway vacations for the weekends after the transfers.

Looking forward to sharing cycle stories and tips/tricks.. I wish you all luck with your cycle.. :D

Narly - YAY thats great - good luck! Yes I had to take them - they are a little messy since you have to put the pill on the stick but not that bad. To be honest I only had it done once and the retrieval itself wasn't painful as they put me under, but after a couple of hours I was in a lot of pain my abdomen was very sore, I could hardly walk. Make sure to take lots of Tylenol after and plan to be in bed all day (at least I was). The next day I was better - so luckily it was one day!

maybethistime - welcome to the june cycle - good luck with injections - I know its a lot but I am sure you will be just fine!

AFM - Today I went for BW and U/S, have to wait for AF to come before I can start estrace tomorrow....I HOPE IT COMES TODAY!!!!

baby dust to everyone :)

maybethistime: so how did it go with the injections? to answer your question about the stress, just keep yourself busy, my husband and i go for walks, play with our dogs, visit family, go out to eat. we did plan a trip before we started the process and plan on a small trip afterward as well, that did help...its always on my mind, and i even have dreams about it and have trouble sleeping. but keeping positive and my mind busy with work and other things kinda helps make the days go by faster...good luck to you...

Thanks for the suggestions Narly..

So far so good with the injections. Giving them to myself haven't been an issue. I have been starting to feel a little weird after them and I am assuming it is just a side effect of the Lupron. I feel so out of it and dizzy at times but it goes away if I eat something. Have you experienced this?

Happy Friday!!

Today I had my nurse consultation at the IVF center. Lots of information! I will be starting Lupron on Tuesday. Exact dates of the retrieval aren't known yet, but I am guessing it is going to be the week of June 7-11. As for the next 10 days, all I need to be doing is taking birth control, and Lupron. Easy enough for now (I hope). Although when the box of meds is delivered, I may be thinking otherwise. I am super excited to get everything going!! :D Baby dust to everyone, and have a great weekend! 8)

hi everyone
i received my protocol on fri - it's going to be synarel, and then 150 units of bravelle and 150 of menopur just like last cycle. my IVF coordinator ordered the medicine so should be receiving my baby in a box in the nxt week or so. yay for getting started...
as we share this journey together, i thought it would be nice to get to know each other a bit better. so let me start about us... my husband and i live in NC, we are celebrating our 10 yr anniversary this month. we have a 2-yr old brittany spaniel who is quite a handful (and loves chewing on shoes, especially the very expensive kind) and 2 cats. i am very much career-oriented, work long hours and travel a lot for my work, especially internationally. this IVF journey is helping me put everything in pespective. i love to cook, and to read books of all kinds. and i watch way too much tv :)
what about everyone on this thread? tell us more about you!
have a great weekend!

Hi ladies! It's good to see everyone is getting the ball rolling! I'm on day 5 of provera, and hoping AF comes soon after day 10! Then I get to start stimming!!! My box of meds have been here for about a month already and it is absolutely killing me!!

Julia-nice to hear about you and your DH. My DH husband and I live in Illinois and have only been married for 5 months. I was told when I was 21 that I wouldn't be able to have children, so DH and I decided to to start ttc when we got engaged. Clearly the doctors were right-no baby. So we started our IVF journey in November of last year and are finally at the point of our first cycle. We have a 1 year old boxer named Boots who gets into everything! She has a tendency to jump up right at my abdomen so she will be staying with my aunt for a bit after ET, then we are just going to have to watch her closely. I'm a teacher (6th grade) so I will get the whole summer to (hopefully) get through my first trimester. I'm also part of the may cycle group because I had hoped to cycle in may, so I apologize if I am a bit slow to respond!

I look forward to meeting the rest of you ladies and wish TONS of baby dust to all!

Julia, great idea. My DH and I will be married for two years this summer. We live in Chicago. We have no pets, but big families! We have lots of nieces and nephews to keep us busy. We have been TTC for a year, and I went to see a RE in March. Things happened pretty fast for us, and we are now ready to begin our first cycle. I am also a teacher (2nd grade) so I will have all summer to relax and take care of myself. My school year ends June 4, and the ER should take place the following week. I am also guilty of watching too much TV, mostly mindless shows that I find amusing :) I like to play volleyball, but that will end soon. My DH plays 16" softball, so that is fun to watch on summer nights. We have great family and friend support, and are looking forward to a successful IVF process! Baby dust to everyone!

Good Idea Julia..

My name is Kimberley and my DH and I have been married for two years. We live in Arizona and are parents to our two American Bulldog's Mugsey and Maisey. We also have three nieces and one nephew who keeps us busy and on our toes. I love spending time with my family and watch too many tv reality shows.. ( they are my secret guilty pleasure)
We have been TTC for two years and finally went to a Dr. in Jan/10. I was diagnosed with Low Ovarian Reserve (first FSH level 13.5 and second 9.5 during clomid challenge) We also discovered that my husband has a low morphology count. Our doctor recommended skipping the IUI's and go straight to an aggressive IVF route. So here we are. day 5 of injections and anxiously awaiting our ET and Transfer. I have found that my Lupron shots are no biggie however my gonalF shots are a pain in the behind.. I am not sure if I am not injecting it right but I am having a hard time puncturing the skin with this needle. The only annoying side effect I have with the injections are the hormones... Out of nowhere I will start tearing up and cry for a second. My sister and I went to the Glee concert yesterday and I started crying when a song that I liked came on. My poor sister didn't know how to handle me and the tears...
Sorry got off track...

I have found this site very comforting and I wish nothing but happy healthy babies for you all...

Hi All- It looks like everyone telling a little bit about themselves. Well, I've been dealing with RE's for 8 years now. I had 2 tubal pregnancies with one emergency surgery. I have some endo, Left tube finally taken out 2 years ago @ my request. I have a DD from a clomid cycle, something decided to work in my favor. She is our life :D :D :D We want to give her a sibling sooooo bad. This will be our last attempt @ IVF. I've had 5 surgeries, 3 of which was because of ectopic, and endo. I've had 4 HSG, one hysteroscopy and about a zillion ultrasounds and bloodwork done. Most of my thirties have been spent trying to get pregnant. I would loooove to end this chapter of my life, hoping it will be with a baby in my arms. I think I'm starting to be @ the acceptance stage, knowing that this might not work.Sorry, to seem like Debbie downer but I never thought we would of had so many problems with IVF especially since we had a DD naturally. There were soooo many road blocks we have endured over the last year, that I sometimes think it just wasn't meant to be. Then in November we had a BFP, we were thrilled only to lose it 1.5 weeks later. That felt like a cruel joke. My last year has felt like a cruel joke I have seen people on this board start IVF after me and have given birth by now. I feel alot more cautious than I did a year ago, and I know this is a chance of having a baby no gaurantees. Sorry, if I bummed anyone out. I will be gettting my follistim in the mail this week, already have the rest of the meds from all the other cycles. I'm waiting on my AF, which should arrive around Memorial weekend. Probably will transfer @ mid June. Wishing Babay dust to all :D :D :D :D :D

Hi girls...looking forward to getting to know everyone..
I am on my second IVF cycle..My name is Debbie. Mike and I have been married for 6 yrs..I am 40 yrs old with a 16 yr old from a previous relationship. My first Ivf cycle really threw me for an emotional loop...I just started Lupron injections on Fri 5/14...is anyone else experiencing side effects? i have a low grade headache all the time and am very irritable...i did not use lupron during the first cycle..my RE had me on BCP's to suppress, so the lupron is new to me...I am guessing that my retireival and transfer should be somewhere around the second week in june...I am nervous and very grateful that I have you ladies to share this emotioanl process with...

Hi Debbie...
I have been on the Lupron injections since last Thursday and am experiencing the following side effects:
Irritable.. I love my husband very much but have found myself very irritable with him.. Poor guy :?
Low grade headache:
Dizzy/Loopy Feeling
Mild hotflashes
Swelling in my legs

I was expecting the side effects to be way worse (knocking on wood right now) and am feeling pretty lucky they haven't been worse.

Hope this helps Debbie.

Oh Debbie...
Sill me  How could I forget the water retention?? I had to go shopping for new tube top dresses so I would no longer have anything around my waist line...
Hybernation is a great idea. I have been keeping myself busy and away from my husband by going to the gym, massages and yoga. It has kept the stress level down and my recent hormonal outburts

I have been told that my ET will be sometime during the week of the 23rd and transfer hopefully 5 days later... I have my first ultra sound since I have started my injections tomorrow and I am hoping we start to see some nice looking follicles..

Baby dust to you all!!! :) :) :)
