Welcome to our group. We have a lot of wonderful ladies here and am sure we'll all give each other the support we KNOW we all need during TTC.
I am really sorry about your chemical pregnancy, i know its hard. Try and relax and look forward to the upcoming IVF with new hope and high spirits. I had a chemical pg on IVF #2 and i was gutted, but i hold onto the hope that i was nearly there.
As for what to in preparation for IVF, to be honest there are so many different opinions out there. I can tell you what I am doing, but I am not saying its the right thing. Its what i've decided to do after gathering advice from various sources and decided what worked for me.
First, i am going through this with a POSITIVE ATTITUDE. I AM GETTING PREGNANT IN APRIL!
Second, i am taking a Prenatal Multivitamin with Folic acid 700mcg, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C (250mg) and Vitamin E (400mg) ( Vitamin C & E enrich the fluid which surrounds and nourishes the eggs and also help repair after egg retrieval) and Omega 3 & 6, (important for body DNA, body tissue and brain development in the fetus) i am also taking Zinc (helps with cell formation and would healing after surgery), Magnesium (improves fertilisation rates) and Vitamin A (less than 2000iu) (aid egg production, and important for fetal development), CoQ10 (improves blood flow, enriches womb lining), Selenium (improves fertilisation rates, prevents chromosone breakage).
Third , i am eating a well balanced diet which is high in fibre (whole grain breads, cereals and brown rice) and protein (organic lean meat, free range chicken and eggs, cold water fish). I eat a lot of organic vegetables (carrots, brocolli, dark leafy veges, avocados) and fruits (oranges, apples, pears and pineapples) and drink at least 2 litres of water every day. I also snack on nuts and seeds.
Others say cut back on dairy BUT I know i need my calcium for strong bones and teeth and well fuctioning muscles and nerves so i have my low fat dairy, especially plain yoghurt and cottage cheese.
I stopped drinking coffee and artificially sweetened drinks i.e diet drinks ( which i used to drink A LOT). I also stopped having my occassional glass of wine on weekends.
Other things I am going to do but havent started yet include yoga, relaxation techniques like meditation and positive visualization.
Last BUT DEFINATELY NOT least, I PRAY.
Well, thats my plan, I am not saying its right, just what I am doing.
My RE just told me to keep doing what i was doing and to start taking Folic Acid... Thats all. But i came up with that plan on my own after some reading and asking around.
Take care of yourself and look forward to a successful ivf and pregnancy.
