Fresh IVF? Think twice.

A couple years ago, I posted something I thought my RE had said about fresh vs. frozen cycles--that fresh cycles chemically "advance" the uterus too much and make it hard for embryos to implant. My post suggested my overstimulation was responsible for the failure of one of my two fresh embryos to ...

Re: Day 3 transfers vs. Day 5 transfers

OHSS does not reduce the chance of implantation, although the techniques some clinics use to try to avoid OHSS just might have that effect.

WOW!! I must have really misinterpreted what I heard from the RE. They didn't coast me but halved my dose of HCG. What kind of OHSS-avoidance techniques can ...

Re: Day 3 transfers vs. Day 5 transfers

These are all really good points. Regarding how many embryos to transfer, I would add that you should consider how stimulated your ovaries are. Even mild OHSS can negatively affect implantation, and in a fertile/young female it may be wiser to freeze everything and suspend the transfer until ...

Re: Pls share sucess stories after low beta

All sources say that boob sensations are totally unreliable as indicators of pregnancy. Really. Boob sensations come and go during pregnancy, sometimes for weeks.

Re: Pls share sucess stories after low beta

WOW!!! Congratulations, Babydreamz!!! Just keep those numbers rising. I have no idea what skyrocketing betas would mean, but if they double within 72 hours, you're all good. Congrats again!

Re: GHOST- Early US Question

Blair, I just posted this for you on the other thread, but I feel it's important enough to post in two places so you'll be sure to see it. Please, please read it:

I am so sorry for your news, but forgive me if I don't agree with your RE. I don't see why you should stop your meds or give up hope ...

Re: Looking for November Cycle Buddies

So strange how I can be SO DELIGHTED for someone I've never met - Riogirl, congratulations. You have made my day.

Blair, I am so sorry for your news, but forgive me if I don't agree with your RE. I don't see why you should stop your meds or give up hope--yet. If your transfer was Nov. 8, then you ...

Re: Pls share sucess stories after low beta

I read your post and my heart aches for you. Not because your fate is sealed, but because I know how painful limbo is. I remember reading on another forum about a woman whose first beta was 19 and her second, 40, who had a baby girl. I'll be hoping the very best for you.

You can type angelaezra in the author box on the search page. Is it OK to link to someone's post? I guess I will: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20057&p=317292#p317292. Apparently she gave birth today!

Re: Ghost...Frozen embryos???

Funny, I just came across an answer to this question. This doctor at http://www.ivf1.com/long-term-embryo-freezing/ says viability of frozen embryos does not appear to diminish even after 10 years.

By the way, of the stories I've encountered so far on this board, angelaezra's is the most amazing. Anyone who needs inspiration after an unsuccessful cycle should just take a quick look at her signature.

Re: IVF success or getting pregnant stories wanted!

I had my first IVF in July after 8 years trying to conceive with the (infertile) love of my life. We had a good cycle: moderate OHSS but they transferred 2 good-quality blastocysts and froze 5 more. My first beta was low (86 @ 10dp5dt) and rose too slowly, so the clinic was very guarded about our ...

Re: stressed during Stims - trigger tonight

Well, for what it's worth, I had an amazingly stressful stim period (in terms of work and family) and my estrogen soared to over 5000 very quickly. I suddenly started driving wacky, ripping things apart with my teeth and banging pots and pans together. It was probably the worst possible choice of ...
