Thanks you two. I felt much lighter for getting that rant off my chest! It's so helpful to be able to come and let off some steam where other people understand :D .

Perhaps we could write a book Kat.... People are forever asking me if I'm planning on having kids or why I haven't got any. Some bloke ...

Losing my friends

Hi. I haven't been on the boards since a failed treatment in December. Since then I've been having problems with my old friends. I'm OK with my newer friends, it just seems to be my long-term good friendships that are getting difficult.

One friend in particular had a baby in January and is ...

Thanks guys (i mean girls!). As Molly B says, things do happen for a reason and although things don't always go according to our plans, probably they are going according to some kind of plan. You'd think that by wanting something so much and doing everything by the book to get it that you would ...

Question - Why IVF doesn't work?

I've had a couple of weeks for my BFN to sink in and now I'm starting to wonder why it didn't work. Can anyone tell me why two fertilised eggs that have been carefully put into the place where they are meant to grow into a baby then why didn't they?

It was my first and last go at IVF partly because ...

Thanks. My stepdaughter (16yrs old) came to live with us just as I was starting IVF and I haven't been very sociable with her, in fact I've been a bit of an evil stepmother, have been rather self absorbed during IVF. But when I found out a couple of days ago that IVF hadn't worked she came back from ...

Hi everyone. Thanks for your words of support. Was feeling a bit sorry for myself yesterday. The booze and fags didn't really help and now I've got a rotten hangover! But I did go out and buy a cocker spaniel puppy to cheer myself up and it certainly worked. I got a girl puppy and called her daisy ...

BFN, end of the road for me. Couldn't believe it and went to local supermarket to buy evil pee stick so I could see it for myself and that was negative too. Have drunk a bottle of wine, smoked 50 fags, eaten a load of chocolate cake. Am menopausal at 34 and run out of money (DP got 3 kids, so have ...

PS I already secretly named one of my eggs Daisy a few weeks ago, funny we should be testing the same day, maybe it's a good omen?!

Hi Dizzie

Sorry you're feeling fed up. I test on the same day as you and don't feel any symptoms either (apart from the ones I keep imagining 10 times a day). Tried convincing myself I've got morning sickness when really it's stress sickness, also tried convincing myself my boobs are sore but that ...

Hi Gruffalo

I was told by my hospital that some women say they didn't feel a thing and others say it was the most painful experience of their life! I didn't have the choice and was sedated (and given Pethadine). I found it very painful and if I was doing it again would opt for a general. I also had ...
