is d&c necessary after m/c?

It's about 2 months i had my period. Last friday I came to know that i am going to have m/c. I want to ask my doc(this wed'day) to do D&C. I don't know whether it is necessary after a m/c or just wait for AF. How long does it take to get AF after 8 week m/c?

Thanks

I wanted to post after reading tinaviju's reply. Forget about these MIL, SIL things. Just don't care about them(I know, just saying is easy). I think you are all young in early/late 30's, and one day you all WILL bear a child!!!!!!! Time solves everything. BE STRONG ladies.

GOOD LUCK

Hi mandyb, I had the same situation. When I was pregnant with my daughter in 1997-1998, I used to get pain inder the rib cage exactly like you said. I didn't know what it was and didn't also mention with the doctor about that. I used to get mostly right after I ate anything. Temperary relief is ...

Hi gregmbarry, That doesn't sound right. I want you to go have another check up with a ob/gyn IMMEDIATELY. It looks like it is leading you to incompetant cervix. This is the right time to have cerclage to your cervix. If it is not incompetant cervix, you are fine. But you should find out the reason ...

I am in bay area. I went to stanford. If you want to change the clinic, try other clinics. Here it costs about $8000 for regular ER, ET(not including medicines. The pharmacy returns money back if you return the excess medicines). Try your luck by calling other ivf clinics. I hope something clicks ...

You have only 2 options. You change your insurance with a new job or pay the money. I think some clinics offer installments.

Hi Tina, Stanford covers ivf depending on your insurance and the company policy you have. Talk to the insurance coordinator. I heard in kaiser you have to pay like $11000 whereas in stanford, nothing for 1ivf and 1FET.

Good Luck

Hi Tinaviju,

I used to go to Fremont Kaiser. But I changed to Stanford. Kaiser, they started only last year and the insurance doesn't cover. If you still want more advice, go to this forum. It's more location specific.
