Baby is blinking hard...is that bad?

Hi - I have a 7-and-a-half-month old boy who is healthy and happy, and growing very fast. He was the result of one round of IVF and we are very blessed.

It has been hot and humid where we live and just in the last day or so he has been doing this thing with his eyes. They look fine, if just a tiny ...

Developmental milestones

I'm hoping someone can help me stop being an anxious mommy! I have a healthy, beautiful 4-month-old son, born after IVF. When I read the charts of baby milestones, he meets a lot of them. But he is having some trouble lifting his head when he's on his stomach. He does it, but clearly not with as ...

Baby smiles

My baby is almost 9 weeks old and just starting to really show his social smiles. But he seems to smile at other people way more than me - which is really, really weird and makes me worry I'm doing something wrong! Has anyone else experienced this?? I'm with him all day - am I just old hat?

It ...

Thank you all so much - that's really reassuring. I am NEVER going to be so insensitive again - I'm sure I said stupid things to pregnant people too before I knew any better!

We have a scan on Friday to see how big he is - I'm just praying...

Thank you again - hope you are all doing well!

Bump too small?

I'm going slightly bananas here from comments I am getting from nice people. Though I have gained almost 40 pounds in total (I'm at 36 weeks with a boy), everyone is always telling me how "small" I look. But my bump has been measuring in the normal range - at least that's what the doctor's tell me ...

That's it exactly -the daily grind makes you forget what's really important.

I want to work until I have to stop, because otherwise I lose more time with the baby when he's actually here!. Are you planning to go back to work? I more or less have to....

Working while pregnant?

Hi everyone - I'm in my 34th week now and have been working full time throughout. I thought I'd start a thread for others who are experiencing the same things. Such as:

1. Exhaustion

2. No empathy from co-workers

3. Inconvenience of doctor appointment juggling

4. Fear that you are doing damage ...

Two things:

Avoid baths - some places don't tell you that, but it's important.

Resist the temptation to take a HPT during 2ww. It's hard, but I've heard too many stories about misleading results. They are just heartbreaking.

Hiccups?

Hi everyone - I'm at 33 weeks with a boy and just in the past week have noticed he seems to be hiccuping every day. Anyone done a search on that? The information is totally contradictory! Some things say it's a sign of a healthy baby, some say it could be a sign that there's a problem with the cord ...

Thank you everybody for your replies - it all really helps a lot. My ob practice is very good, and I really like the doctors. But while I know they see IVF moms, they are very cautious about the whole thing. All this time I'd been feeling like "I'm just pregnant like everyone else!"

On the other ...

Low birth rate?

Hi - I'm 31 weeks along with a boy. All has been going well so far. I saw the doctor today and he said he will want me to have another ultrasound, because IVF babies are often low birth weight babies. I'd never heard this. He measured my bump too and said it's "average" - which is fine with me. But ...

Thanks for sharing that - it's really helpful to know I'm not the only one!

I guess this is just training for the constant worry of motherhood, right??

Kick counting...constant worry!

Hi everyone - I'm 27 weeks pregnant following IVF and driving myself NUTS over feeling the baby move. I was wondering what other people's experiences are in how their babies move - do they always move the same amount every day? Or do they have some sleepy days, when they move less?

This little guy ...
