I did it numerous times. It was easier than I thought it would be. I did it standing up and looking over my shoulder in the mirror at the upper outer quadrant of my buttocks. Some others suggested sitting in a chair, crossing your legs and leaning away from the injection side. Then you can look to ...

For most offices, your egg retrieval date counts as your ovulation date. Since the time from LMP to ER varies widely, ER is the best date to use. This spreadsheet can be helpful for all different scenarios, BUT a word of caution: I would not count on it at ALL for predicting HCG levels. They are all ...

I bled on and off until about 13 weeks. It was quite disconcerting, but it ended up being nothing. I even had a few times of bright red gushes of blood. Very scary, but nothing. Sometimes you can have a hematoma - a collection of blood near the imlpantation site. It can come out intermittently, and ...

Although they didn't shrink, my breasts were noticeably less tender when I stopped PIO (and all other meds at 12 weeks). Could have been PIO, could have been getting past the 12 week mark, not sure. I didn't sleep as well without the help of the progesterone. I also got a few headaches at night for ...

I have been bleeding on and off the whole time. I am now 12 weeks. In the last week, the bleeding has gone from bright red to very dark brown and pasty. I have had four ultrasounds, and I am assured everything looks fine. Good growth and strong heart rate. It is always worrisome to see the bleeding ...

Neeve,

I understand your fears. I had only four follicles at retrieval time. I had five eggs collected, four looked good, and three fertilized. We put back all three (on day 3), and I am 12 weeks pregnant with one happy little baby. So far so good! Please don't give up hope. All it takes is ONE!! I ...

It depends on when you are testing - it may be very early, hence the low numbers. It also matters more that the numbers double every 48-72 hours. Beta testing every 48 hours for a few weeks seems like torture! I have not read that many others have had testing this often. Most I read have it anywhere ...

Due dates are most accurate when calculated in the first trimester, when all babies grow at about the same rate. Using crown-rump length (CRL) is the best way to date a pregnancy. A general rule of thumb is that dating in the first trimester is accurate to within about 1 week, in the second ...

I had several days of brown/pink spotting before my BFP - starting about 9dp3dt. I also then had bleeding for the entire week 6. It was nerve wracking no matter how much reassurance I got, but it did help to at least see others experiencing the same thing. It is so hard to stay positive with ...

I have given myself many progesterone IM injections without a problem. You can do it, it is easy. Just pivot and use a mirror to help you visualize placement in the upper outer quadrant of your buttocks. My nurse also suggested sitting, crossing your legs and leaning away from the injection side. I ...

There is really no cause for concern with flying in the first or second trimesters of a healthy pregnancy. Most OB/GYNs would "ground" you at 36 weeks (with a singleton, sooner with twins). I have already flown many hours and am flying many more this month alone, including internationally next week ...
