Hi Trisha,

Welcome to the boards ... I'm newish myself!

I have been through 2 cycles of ICSI myself, 1st +ve, but miscarried at 7 weeks, after I broke my leg and the second last month which was a -ve (I had a year between the cycles as I needed to recover from the break)

I think the success rates ...

Janem - that's fantastic news .. congrats!!!! This is good ... it's helped 2 people with +ve.

Nicola ... the book is called Fertility and Conception by Zita West published by Dorling Kindersley. I got it from Amazon. It focus's on assisted conception, so there are lots of tips there.

Hi Sandra,

I'm fine, but I have a stinking cold - price of travelling on the tube ... too many people coughing in your face!

Had a quick flick through the book and it does seem interesting if a little intense!

I think I am with you and that I will try and incorporate things, like acupuncture and ...

Zita West

Hi all,

Does anyone have any views on Zita West?

I have just bought her book on the recommendation of someone who has had IVF twice and both times have resulted in babies. She used the techniques in the book to aid her and DH through the IVF process and it worked!

Apparently Zita has had proven ...

Sandra,

It's amazing what a loss of appetite, 200 fags and pounding the treadmill in anger and frustration can do after a negative ... I don't wish that on anyone!

I will give up the fags again and start getting ready for the next round!

On a serious note, don't worry about a few extra pounds, it ...

Hi Sandra,

You're so right!

3 weeks on from my -ve, I have gone back to doing all the normal things - not treating myself and exercising, so the weight has come off again. I think it's only natural given the hoops we ladies have to jump through, that we relax and therefore some weigh creeps on. I ...

Hi Natalie Ann,

I have had 2 icsi cycles, so don't be worried!

I think it depends on the cycle, but I know you can have EC by sedation rather than a general and I think I with sedation your DH can come in. I opted for general and my DH didn't want to come in ... there were just some parts of my ...

Barny,

So sorry you got a -ve. I know how you feel ... you just need to chill and pamper yourself.

Be strong and take care

Thanks to both of you for your advice.

Had another chat with my lovely doc and he said as I am on a low level of drugs and a very mild protocol that I can go again quickly (unfortunately DH has the problems with sperm, but I am OK, hence the low levels of meds).

So I am feeling weirdly relaxed and ...

Follow Up Consultation

Hi all,

So I have had my follow-up after my -ve a couple of weeks ago and it went well ... in fact my doc was disappointed it didn't work out this cycle, especially as I had the +ve on the first cycle.

All the tests are clear, they don't want to change any of the meds as I responded well & I can ...

Hi Mia,

I had mild OHSS on my last cycle, apart from the general soreness you have, I was bloated and my stomach was sore.

My consultant advised me to drink lots of fluids - at least 3 litres per day, water and fruit juice (but no fizzy drinks!) and to drink a glass of milk in the morning and the ...

Kel, Thanks for the contact ... I'll give them a call and compare prices ready for my next go.

Barny, I am assuming Boots are cheaper than the LFC, so I'll give them a try as well. By the way, what do you think of the LFC? I am not sure, even though I have done a couple of cycles with them, 1st pg ...
